  • Extremely hospitable staff, great location

    We have had a great time and my family were very sad for our time at Bear Lodge to come to an end. There is a very warm, relaxed and down to earth atmosphere and the staff couldn't have gone more out of their way to be friendly, hospitable and accommodating. Thank you! The ultra-modern rooms have all the mod-cons and comfy beds but, to nitpick, are a little cramped e.g. no real room to open a suitcase. The food was good, but not exceptional and a back up meal choice for our fussy kids would have helped, rather than just one kids' option. The location is great - right on the piste and a short walk to the middle of Arc 1950. Thanks to all for a wonderful, memorable holiday.

  • VIP just gets better

    This was our 4th VIP ski holiday in 4th different resort and every year it feels it just gets better. The Les Arc resort is literally VIP - everything you’d want is at your convenience and the chalet host, Olivia was unreal - best host we’ve had and literally provided a VIP experience for the entire party! We never return back to the same resort but this one may just make us come back to Les Arc!

    Our 4th time with VIP ski but 1st time at Bear Lodge and will definitely be returning. The set up is fantastic for families … our 3 kids super happy and our youngest (2) had a ball in the kids club with Sarah Nutter who went above and beyond to look after him and he as helpful as possible to ensure we had a great break. Kids enjoyed skiing all day and then the pool was an added bonus in the afternoons! Thanks to Jordan for checking in with us so many time to see what we needed.

    From start to finish the holiday was 5 star. The service in the Chalet was outstanding. Food exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were like being around friends! Phoebe was on hand whenever we needed and organised everything we requested. The boys in the vans were so helpful and the service was there whenever we requested. The only issue we had was there was no skis organised for us when we arrived. This was a little disappointing as a little stressful and not the best start. However they sorted it out very quickly. We will be back next year for sure!!

    What a tip top holiday!! The chalet was absolutely top notch, the team were incredible, nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent!! What a fab week me and the kids have had!!! A hot tub would have made this 11/10!! But that's just being uber picky. Everything else was incredible

    Majority of my experience was 10/10, lovely chalet and staff were great fun. The food everyday was so good, especially the afternoon tea (my favourite were the cupcakes and the chocolate cookies). Only thing that let it down for me were no one collecting wake up service empty mugs from the rooms and the stairs to the piste being really icy/not bashed.

    My husband and I stayed in a room in No. 4 Aspen House. I have to say I did expect a better service than I received. The purpose of this is to provide constructive feedback so you can improve services in the future. The positives: friendly welcome, all staff very keen to help with luggage up to the room, chalet apartment was lovely, well laid out, good furnishings, plenty of hanging space, good bathroom, great location for the slopes. The negatives: You could hear the noise of the traffic from the main road so we couldn't sleep with a window open and the room was stuffy. The kitchen area was a bit dirty, food spilt on the floor and not wiped up straight away, the dish cloth was filthy. The meals weren't great. I appreciate that catered chalets generally use 'gap-year students' and they do their best but I think the company is trying too hard with fancy recipes that turn out to be not good quality when simple things like steak pie, veg and potatoes would be just as nice. The biggest gripe I have is that the price is supposed to include wine yet we had to ask for wine every night. Sometimes we got offered a small glass at the start of the meal and then had to ask for more. Other times we didn't get offered a glass at all, and then had to ask. I and some of the other guests were so fed up of asking that on the last night we didn't bother. We had all 3 courses and still hadn't been asked if we wanted wine. When we left the next day we noticed a substantial amount of wine being delivered for the next week's guests. A significant amount more than we had consumed. So what is happening to the wine that guests are not being offered? We are retired, ski around six weeks each year and I organise for a big group every year. I was considering booking Bear Lodge for the group next year but this experience has made me think twice. Sorry this may not be what you want to hear but it is genuinely to help you improve.
