December ski holidays
The ski season kicks off in late November/early December and runs all the way through to April (and even early May in some resorts). Deciding when to hit the slopes depends on your priorities, but each part of the season has its unique charm.
If you're dreaming of a
festive December holiday, the magic of Christmas and New Year in the mountains is hard to beat. Picture twinkling lights, a lively festive atmosphere, and maybe even catching Santa on his sleigh! Plus, New Year’s Eve is unforgettable with dazzling fireworks and torchlit descents lighting up the night.
But if you’re keen to avoid the festive week prices,
early December skiing could be your sweet spot. The slopes are quieter, the prices lower, and you’ll still soak up the festive spirit with pre-Christmas markets, carolling choirs, and delicious vin chaud (mulled wine) that somehow tastes even better in the crisp alpine air. It’s the perfect time for your first ski fix of the season, without the holiday rush!

The season kicks off in late November, and if you're after incredible value, fewer crowds, and dependable snow, we highly recommend hitting the slopes in early December!
Another fantastic option for December skiing is Les Arcs, boasting high-altitude runs and an impressive early snow record. It's perfect for those seeking excellent conditions from the get-go.
