Family dining made easy

Sharing great food has always been part of a VIP SKI holiday.

When you're travelling with children, we know mealtimes need to work a little differently. Whether you've got a baby just starting weaning, a toddler with favourite foods, or older children keen to eat with the adults, our chalet teams, nannies and chefs work together to make family dining easy.

Every family is different, and we'll always work with you to find what suits your children best. That's why we never work from a standard children's menu. Instead, we'll plan meals around your children's routines, preferences and dietary needs, making mealtimes feel as relaxed as the rest of your holiday.

We start by listening

Before the first meal is prepared, we'll talk to you about your children and ask about:

  • favourite meals
  • foods they dislike
  • allergies
  • intolerances
  • portion sizes
  • eating routines
  • weaning
  • anything else that helps us keep their tummies full
No parent should spend a ski holiday worrying about what's for tea!.

Meals that work around your family

Every family has their own routine, and we'll help you find the approach that works best for yours.

Many parents choose for younger children to enjoy an earlier children's high tea, allowing them to eat familiar, age-appropriate meals before bedtime while the adults relax over dinner later in the evening.

Others prefer everyone to dine together. Children are always welcome at the main evening meal and can either enjoy a child-friendly version or, if they're ready, the same menu as the adults.
There's no right or wrong approach - just whatever works best for your family.

When staying in a shared catered chalet, children under 12 will normally enjoy children's high tea, helping to create a relaxed evening for both families and other guests.

The full chalet experience
Older children and teenagers can enjoy the same menu as the adults and be part of the full evening dining experience.

Food they’ll actually enjoy

Whether they're enjoying an earlier high tea or joining the adults for dinner, we'll tailor meals around your child's age, appetite and preferences.

Favourite dishes we like to prepare include:

  • homemade pasta dishes
  • cottage pie
  • fish fingers and homemade wedges
  • roast chicken
  • tomato pasta
  • mini burgers
  • macaroni cheese
  • homemade pizza
  • vegetable risotto
  • fresh fruit
  • yoghurt
  • homemade puddings
Menus are planned with variety in mind and can be adjusted throughout the week.

Fussy eaters?

You're definitely not the first!

Many children become a little more adventurous on holiday, but we know others prefer sticking to familiar favourites. And that's absolutely fine. We' never expect your child to fit our menu, so we'll adapt wherever we reasonably can to help everyone enjoy mealtimes.

No judgement.
No battles.
Just happy children.

Allergies & dietary requirements

Food allergies and intolerances are something we take extremely seriously. We'll discuss dietary requirements before you travel, communicate them clearly with our resort teams and continue working with you throughout your holiday.

Whether your child has a diagnosed allergy, coeliac disease, dairy intolerance or simply avoids certain foods, we'll make sure we’ve got everything we need to ensure meals are prepared safely and appropriately throughout your stay.

Childcare food

Children spending the day with Bear Cubs or our private nannies enjoy freshly prepared meals and snacks designed around their age and routine. Our childcare and catering teams work closely together throughout the week, ensuring meals remain consistent with your child's routine and dietary needs.

For younger children this may include:

  • healthy snacks
  • freshly prepared lunches
  • fruit
  • yoghurts
  • home baking
  • baby food prepared to your guidance
We'll always discuss your child's usual routine before the week begins.

Babies & weaning

Travelling with a baby? No problem.

Whether you're beginning homemade purées and formula or beginning baby-led weaning, we'll work with you to understand exactly what you need.

Fresh purées, steamed vegetables and simple meals can all be prepared to suit your baby's stage of development.

It's the little things...

Sometimes it's the smallest details that make the biggest difference.

Small portions.
Favourite desserts.
Keeping foods separate.
Trying something new… and knowing when not to.

These are the things that help everyone relax.

Because great family holidays happen around the table

Some of the best holiday memories are made over breakfast before the first lift, sharing homemade cake after skiing or sitting around the table together at the end of the day.

We'll take care of the food.
You simply enjoy making memories together.

Family dining FAQs

Q. Can my child eat with us?
Absolutely. Many families choose an earlier children's high tea, allowing younger children to eat before bedtime while the adults enjoy a relaxed evening meal later.
But if your child joins the adult dinner, they can either enjoy an age-appropriate children's meal or, if they prefer, the same menu as the adults. We'll discuss what works best for your family before you travel and we can remain flexible throughout the week.

Q. What if my child is a fussy eater?
No problem. Our chalet teams are experienced at adapting meals throughout the week and will work with you to find dishes your child enjoys.

Q. Can babies be catered for?
Yes. Whether your baby is bottle-fed, beginning weaning or already enjoying family foods, we'll discuss their routine before you travel and prepare meals to suit their stage of development.

Q. Can you cater for allergies?
Absolutely. Food allergies and dietary requirements should be advised before travel so our catering and childcare teams can prepare meals and snacks safely and appropriately throughout your stay.
