Catering for Children on Family Ski Holidays

Family ski holidays are full of firsts - the first snowball, the first time on skis, the first evening snuggled up by the fire. For parents, those moments are even sweeter when they know their children are happy, comfortable, and well-fed. At VIP SKI, we understand that little ones come with big appetites, and no two families are the same. Whether you’re travelling with a baby, toddler, or teen, our chalet hosts are there to make mealtimes easy, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable.
Every children’s meal is freshly prepared in your chalet using quality ingredients, plenty of vegetables, and a big helping of care. We avoid processed foods, added salt, and unnecessary sugar, especially for babies and toddlers, and focus on flavour, colour, and balance. Our hosts plan menus around your family’s preferences, and every dish is made from scratch, whether it’s a comforting shepherd’s pie or a homemade smiley-face pizza.
Our classic weekly children’s menu is full of familiar favourites: fish goujons with peas, spaghetti bolognese, build-a-burger night, and more. Dessert is part of the fun too, from mini cheesecakes to fruit crumbles and ice cream sundaes. For babies, we’re more than happy to prepare purées with fresh produce to suit your infant’s taste and stage of weaning.
“We treat every child’s meal as if it were for our own family - fresh, nutritious, and tailored to their stage and tastes.”
If you’re travelling with an infant, rest assured we can prepare baby-friendly meals exactly to your needs. Our hosts can steam, mash, or blend fresh fruit and vegetables and are careful to avoid honey, salt, and strong seasonings. Simply let us know any preferences or dietary requirements before your holiday, and we’ll make sure everything is ready for your arrival.
Children’s high tea is served at 5:30–6pm, a relaxed and sociable time for younger guests to refuel after their day in the snow. We ask that all under-12s take high tea unless you’ve booked sole occupancy of your chalet, in which case children are welcome to dine later with parents.
If you’d like to eat earlier than 5:30pm, that’s no problem, just let us know in advance, and we can adjust mealtimes to suit your routine. For families wishing to share dinner together, our switch menu offers a great balance, allowing children to enjoy a simplified version of the main evening menu alongside parents.
At VIP SKI, flexibility is at the heart of what we do. Whether your little one needs supper at five sharp or prefers to join the grown-ups, your chalet host will happily adapt to make family dining easy.
The secret to happy mealtimes? Talking. From the moment you book, we’ll ask about your children’s likes, dislikes, and any allergies. In resort, your host will check in regularly to make sure everything’s going smoothly, whether that’s tweaking portion sizes, skipping a sauce, or adjusting dessert choices.
If there’s a nanny in the chalet, they’ll work closely with your host to plan the week’s meals and keep everything running seamlessly. And if something changes, as it often does with little ones, we’ll adapt with you.
We believe food should be as cheerful as it is nourishing. Our chalet hosts love to make dining fun for kids - colourful plates, smiley shapes, or a bit of hands-on help making pizza or decorating a dessert. After all, children are far more likely to eat what they’ve helped create.
We know that when your children are happy, you can truly relax. Our team takes as much pride in caring for our smallest guests as they do in delivering your own fine dining experience. From homemade purées to hearty kids’ teas, everything we serve is made with fresh ingredients and thoughtful attention to detail.
