She said …Yes!

Everyone enjoys hearing a romantic love story, and this one certainly made us smile…

Mike & Allison Aldridge have enjoyed several holidays with VIP SKI, so when son-in-law to be, Phil, requested Mikes blessing and support for his daughter's hand in marriage, and when he mentioned his dream to propose in the Alps… Mike jumped right in to help plan the perfect place for his daughter’s surprise.

The family and friends booked to stay in Chalet Mariefleur in Meribel, and whilst Katherine was blissfully unaware of the big question that was about to be asked, Phil and Mike planned, plotted, whispered and created the perfect moment…

Katherine, who is a huge fan of fireworks, did not suspect a thing when the chalet hosts asked her to step outside on to the chalet balcony to see their firework display on Tuesday evening during dinner. She wasn’t even the first to notice the 5 foot tall firework with ‘Will you marry me’ emblazoned in led lights…

Of course she said …’YES’. And cheers, tears, hugs and champagne followed the proposal. Even more heartfelt emotion ensued from the celebrating group, when Katherine realised the diamond in her ring was actually from her late grandmother’s engagement ring.

Mike & Allison wished to share the story with us, as a holiday that would certainly never be forgotten. The wedding planning is now in full swing as Phil and Katherine plan to tie the knot in May 2016… regrettably we can’t provide a snowy honeymoon destination in May?!

We would like to wish the newly engaged couple lots of love and happiness as they embark on their journey as husband and wife - and of course many more unforgettable skiing holidays shared together in the future.
