The host running your chalet, the driver in your vehicle and the ski host on the mountain will make or break your holiday; we do not take this responsibility lightly.
Pip, Lottie, James and Andrew run recruitment during the summer. They will receive 1500 CVs again this year, interview 500 applicants and employ just 200 seasonal staff. They can afford to be choosy. Our colleagues tend to be more mature than most, the average age last year was 27, this too makes a difference. We look for people like us.
We hardly advertise any more, all of our applications are through word of mouth. We treat our staff with the same respect that we treat our customers. We are known for asking more of our colleagues than our competitors, but the reward is a product of which they can be furiously proud. Team in the Alps
Our operations team move over to the Alps in late October. We spend the best part of two months before you arrive trying to ensure that everyone understands what we are trying to do and empathises with our moral and financial commitment to you. By the time you arrive we want to be sure that everyone cares as much as we do.
Our Managers are extremely important in ensuring that your holiday lives up to both our standards and your expectations. They will meet you at the airport and accompany you back to the resort, deliver your lift pass and arrange any ski hire or lessons that you might require. They will keep an attentive but unobtrusive eye on your needs throughout the week. You will find them to be a mine of local information, extremely approachable and permanently accessible to ensure that you get the very best from your holiday.
As well as possessing a flair for entertaining and a genuine love of food, our chalet hosts are friendly, unflappable and exceptionally hard working. Having completed a rigorous pre-season training course, each host is encouraged to manage their chalet as if it were their own home. We find this engenders a commitment to your enjoyment and well-being which makes the atmosphere in our chalets quite different. Every one of us carries the experience and knowledge that we have acquired as a small successful business over the last 26 years. We are all proud to be part of VIP and really do look after you as we would like to be looked after ourselves.
