Suite Luk

Felt very fortunate to experience the Chalet Luk . It was everything one wanted and more . Very comfortable and our chalet host Preston was excellent. The food was exceptional . Tom helped out on his day off and was also equally as good. Experience was 5* We were also fortunate to have really great conditions. Transfers and all concierge staff were so good too . Would recommend VIP from beginning to end. A special place to stay.

The holiday was absolutely excellent. Apart from lift closures on the last day (high wind) everything was really good. The Chalet team (Preston and Ellie) were excellent - nothing was too much to ask and they did a great job of looking after us with the right balance of finesse and friendliness. Food and wine were plentiful and excellent. Bear Lodge overall was super - extremely convenient for the slopes (particularly with ski hire and lessons on site - important with kids). Other amenities such as the cinema room and pool were also great. Minor quibbles - the Sauna could have been on a little more, the pool could have been a degree or two warmer and the gym could have a bit more kit, but these are really small points. One thing which sprang to mind on the day that 1950 was pretty closed was that there was no VIP ski transport available to get to other resorts, which we have certainly had with VIP in other resorts. I note of course that Bear is ski-in ski-out but useful as a backup. Overall - very well done and thanks again to Preston, Ellie and the rest of the resort team.

I have skied a LOT including 5 full seasons as a ski instructor, so I consider myself to have decent context for this review. Bottom line up front: this vacation rates in the top 5 from decades of experience. Here’s why: 1. The location is second to none - some resorts boast “ski in/ski out” but Bear Lodge truly delivers with the boot room on the same level as the slopes and an easy blue run passing by - all very easy 2. The chalet itself - Suite Luk - very modern, well-insulated from the elements with fantastic views of the pistes. It’s as if an architect put all the needs of a skier (massages, pool, sauna, comfortable bedrooms, wellness center etc…) into a computer and it spat out Bear Lodge - I can’t fault it 3. The staff - from the initial booking process, the flexible bus transfer times from Geneva, to the way bags were delivered to our rooms the staff were all excellent 4. Leaving the best until last, our Chalet Hosts, Preston and Ellie were among the best I have ever encountered. They catered to our every need with aplomb. The food was superb (breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner) and the chalet was always clean. Honestly, these Hosts need special recognition as they are at the front end of VIP’s Customer Experience… it is Preston and Ellie who truly deserve the 5 star review I traveled all the way from New York for this ski trip and I am very glad I did… great job Preston, Ellie and the VIP Team!

From start to finish, VIPski made the whole experience run silky smooth. They couldn't have been more helpful and all staff were welcoming and friendly. Special mention to Preston who goes above and beyond duty to make sure all guests have a wonderful experience in chalet Luk. Thanks also to Ellie who shared some of the hosting during our week. Always smiling and happy to help we would definitely come back

Most VIPSki staff were brilliant, coach transfer from Geneva was a bit bereft on the communication front but everyone else was brilliant, Rosie, Martha and Alaw + Jed require special mention but Preston was the star of the show….probably the best chalet host we’ve had in over 60 chalet ski trips over 45 years. One grumpy manager guy resented us being in the dining room to get ice for my Wife’s ruptured ACL but that apart you have a great facility and wonderful staff.

Despite being injured on the first day of skiing and being on crutches for the rest of the week in a ski in ski out chalet I had a great holiday. Preston , our host and his helpers made sure I was looked after at all times and nothing was too much trouble. The ice bags were invaluable and the recommendation for a physio made all the difference. I was even able to escape by taxi for lunch a few days. You have a great team at Bear Lodge and they work well together to ensure your guests have a great holiday even if it doesn’t go as planned when injuries arrive.

A great holiday with some adversity due to a knee injury my Wife suffered when skiing on the first day but all the VIP staff stepped up in lots of ways to make things easier, none more than our Chalet Host Preston. In 44 years of skiing often with 2, 3 or 4 trips per year Preston is the best we’ve encountered.

We spent a fantastic week here with our 3 kids (6 and under) and their grandparents & aunt/uncles. Grandparents didn’t ski as much but enough to keep them busy with the spa and walks around the village. The chalet was the perfect size, we never felt on top of each other and there was loads of space. Rooms were very comfortable and shower was great. Was also really handy for kids club and access to slope/village which was all on the same level. The children loved the kids club and the nannies. The pyjama club in the evening meant the adults could enjoy dinner in peace. Food was fab, Preston and Ellie couldn’t have taken better care of us and catered for the awkward kids too! A couple of the meal portions were on the small size and would have liked more bread with breakfast, also the suite needs a toaster! Lots of great runs for different abilities and easy to get over to La Plagne. We don’t usually return to the same place twice but would absolutely consider coming back!

Perfectly located chalet right on the piste - true ski in / ski out. The chalet suited our family group wonderfully: beds were comfortable; showers were hot; and there was a lovely lounge to play games in the evening. The pool, steam room and jacuzzi were great after a day’s skiing. Preston and Ellie looked after us so well: Preston’s cooking was second to none and Ellie was really kind to the young children! They were exceptional hosts! Make their lives easier - get them a toaster!

Spent the week in Chalet Luk with Preston and Ellie looking after us. They were both fantastic hosts, excellent food, excellent service, and did everything to arrange extra details for us. The chalet had a great layout with lovely rooms and bathrooms, kept spotlessly clean by the guys. Flawless organisation for lift pass and ski hire. The building's ski in ski out location is perfect for the resort. Great facilities with spa & pool area. Would definitely recommend

Super location Super facilities Stars of the show were our chalet hosts Preston and Ellie who were absolutely great. Great cooks, great fun and great knowledge/advice.

Wonderful holiday. Chalet hosts Preston and Ellie were superb and couldn't do enough to make it a great time. The food was 5*. On the downside we could have a toaster and croissants for breakfast would have been a plus, but these are minor things. We would definitely use VIPSki again.

Have only the highest Praise for our chalet host Preston. Such a personable cheery host and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. Loved the apartment with the smallest criticism for the lighting in the sitting room and dining area which was very harsh. Other than that, v comfortable apartment, great access to slopes, everything went super smoothly and Preston absolutely was a superstar.

Second visit to Bear Lodge. Chosen for ease of access to the slopes and good snow in a challenging season. Preston was a top host, very personable and nothing was too much trouble. Upbeat and cheerful throughout our stay. Chalet was clean and comfortable. The lighting was a bit all or nothing. I believe we mentioned this previously in relation to the restaurant. Overall a very goid week, thank you.

We had a fabulous week with VIP staying in chalet LUK. Our chalet host, Preston, has to be the best host I’ve ever had. Nothing was too much trouble, he was kind, generous, a great entertainer, makes a mean chocolate brownie and super fun to be around. A huge asset to any company. VIP are lucky to have him! Chalet LUK was comfortable with ample storage, good sitting/dining space and a lovely sunny balcony over the piste. All in all a fab week!

Perfect ski resort and a very easy ski holiday experience. Preston was the perfect chalet host, there was nothing that was too much trouble. We cannot fault the whole holiday experience, well organised transfers, very easy ski hire collection, delicious food and very friendly staff. Thank you for a great holiday.

This is the third time at Bear Lodge and it has to be our best experience yet ... and that's saying something. Preston our chalet host was amazing, he was funny, likeable, nothing was too much trouble and his cooking was excellent. Ellie was also fantastic on Preston's day off and together they made a brilliant team. Luk is an amazing apartment and all the facilities of Bear Lodge were excellent as usual. Rosie, the Assistant Manager was brilliant and really helped make our trip special, from pre-arrival checks to her smily visits to our chalet. Even when one of our group had a serious accident and was in Bourg hospital, you helped with everything from lifts, insurance companies and everything in between. Thank you for another great year VIP, and we have already booked again as we can't face skiing with anyone else!

Preston and Ellie made our week. Great hosts and could not have done any more for us. Nothing too much trouble and food fab. Everything very easy from booking (this was our third visit), transfers, equipment, pool, steam room, jacuzzi. We unfortunately had an injury to one our group and VIP helped with anything we requested. Preston and Ellie - once again thank you for looking after us and good luck in whatever you decide to do next.

As soon as we arrived at Bear Lodge we were met by our host (Preston) who was amazing - even though we were early & presumed we’d have to wait to check in, the staff got us in immediately which was very much appreciated after travelling for a long time with our 3 year old and 1 year old. Preston and Sam were amazing in every way; they looked after us so well and even though it was pretty manic with 4couples & 5 children running around, they always did what they could to make all the adults and children happy - no easy feat! I was really impressed by how unfazed they were by our rather energetic 3 year old who loved running up to them/playing/“helping” them cook etc. It really took the pressure off me to have hosts that were so lovely to the kids. They also did their best to keep the kids happy with food (again, impossible with a very fussy 3 year old!) whilst also keeping the adults happy with delicious meals/catering for dietary requirements. And keeping the drinks/wine flowing! They were very good fun but also very professional and did an amazing job of looking after us & keeping the chalet clean and tidy etc. We also had other people help throughout the week - everyone who helped at the chalet was lovely. Alice in particular. As a not very keen skier(!) Bear lodge was the ideal location for me as it had a gym (no cardio equipment but great tv to stream hiit with weights etc) and a spa. The staff were very accommodating and turned things on that weren’t usually on until the skiers had returned! It’s also the perfect location for walking to cafes/restaurants and you can do a lot of walking around the place if you don’t want to ski! Obviously it goes without saying it’s also the perfect location for skiers! The other absolute stars of the show were the Nannies who run the kids club. We have never had a holiday where our 3 year old would happily go to a kids club so we were shocked that he was excited each day to go - our 1 year old gladly followed him. It was such a treat to have childcare on a holiday and I felt so reassured by all the amazing ladies who worked there. Our key worker, Jess, kept us updated with a what’s app group and photos of the kids playing happily. They also took them out on the snow to play and go in sledges etc. And they took them for afternoon tear in the lodge and one day to the cinema room which the kids all loved. We also had an evening where we got babysitters and went out for the evening - again, a real treat. Overall, I really couldn’t fault Bear Lodge / Chalet Luk. My other half (a keen skier) probably isn’t over the moon that I’m going to require a catered chalet with a great kids club & spa in the future! We’ll definitely have to look at more VIP ski options. Thanks to all the lovely staff who made our holiday!

We had a wonderful week, suite was lovely, food good, ski hire effortless. Preston our host was a delight as were the other people that helped him particularly Ella and Lily. I can’t comment on the ski lessons or transfers as we arranged our own.

From the moment we arrived at Geneva airport, the VIP team have all been fantastic. Olivia and Henry, our chalet hosts, looked after us wonderfully well. The meals were all excellent and both Olivia and Henry were always asking if there was anything extra they could do for us. Chalet Luk is extremely comfortable and well maintained. Our overall holiday experience has been fantastic

This was our 4th time with VIP and definitely the best. The purpose-built Bear Lodge in Les Arcs has been designed to make everything as convenient as possible - in-house ski/boot hire, boot room opening onto the piste, chalet all on one floor, etc. To top it all, we had the most wonderful chalet host, Olivia. A great cook, kind, bubbly and helpful. All in all, a fantastic week!

This was our 4th VIP ski holiday in 4th different resort and every year it feels it just gets better. The Les Arc resort is literally VIP - everything you’d want is at your convenience and the chalet host, Olivia was unreal - best host we’ve had and literally provided a VIP experience for the entire party! We never return back to the same resort but this one may just make us come back to Les Arc!

Fantastic from start to finish ! Chalet hosts were lovely , so accommodating , always happy to help with anything that was asked for. Chalet was lovely and always kept very clean and fresh. Everyone was really helpful with any questions asked ! Nursery staff were lovely , so kind and gentle with the kids … took them on some great outings keeping them entertained . Food was lovely , always perfectly prepared and presented . Afternoon tea cakes were delicious !! A great week , thoroughly enjoyed ourselves !

The booking experience was managed by one of our group (Amanda Williams). All seemed to run smoothly. The coach left 30 minutes late this year (it was over an hour last year) which gave us time to get an hours skiing in on Sunday afternoon. Your rep on coach (Scottish lad) needed to be a little happier (no smile - did not seem to want to be there) and he did not engage with anyone at the back of the coach). Same on way back. We were greeted with drinks, cheese, ham and bread in reception last year - nothing this year (disappointing as coach did not stop so was hungry). Can you re-instate this as its a great touch? Luk was great for us. Liv was brilliant and Lara did a great job supporting (they are keepers). Food was very good. We had brand new skis last year and they were excellent. This year there were some issues (some had not been prepped properly and had to have them serviced, one of them the bindings were loose and had to have someone on the slopes fix them - could have been dangerous). I don't think they were worth the money this year as I know we pay a premium to have them in the Lodge. TV's did not work for at least three days - advised they were fixed and they were not. Your Manager this year (male) was not as visible as the Manager last year (female). It may have been busier but thought he would have been more engaging. Everything else was fab and we have Luk on hold for the same week. It looked like the prices were quite a bit higher than this year when we viewed on your web site. I think there is an early booking discount but some adjustment for the poor ski's would be appreciated. I've tried to give you balanced constructive feedback. I'd appreciate a call to discuss. This is the second time we have been to Bear Lodge and it was even better than last year! Olivia and Lara looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. We can’t thank them enough for such a fantastic holiday. We have already booked again for next year.

The perfect arrival. As a fan of four in a bed the white glove was on hand after inspecting all corners of the room it was immaculate not a drop of dust to be found. This and the latest art work by the legendary Tony Foster was like paring the perfect wine and cheese. The hosts could not have done more to attend my (self confessed) very high needs. Micky moon boots was a cut above the rest. Amazing out of this world fried eggs. From start to finish the most incredible experience. 10/10

The facilities at Bear Lodge are first class, the location is also highly desirable and the staff well trained, attentive and cook and serve great food! Excellent!

We’ve been on holiday with VIP for over ten years now and this is our first time in Bear Lodge. It’s absolutely superb. The facilities are amazing and the combination of a personal chalet service in Suite Luk and the hotel wellness centre and fabulous bar (plus darts, pool table, table football and loads of board games!) was 100% perfect for us. The location is wonderful and so easy for ski in/out. We also love the village and being able to ski in to shop and lunch. Meli’s snack bar is great for a quick lunch (and amazing crepes!). Ski hire onsite was super easy and everything was ready on arrival. The boot room is great and everything has been so well designed and thought through. The wellness area has the wow factor and we loved going swimming every day. The pool Is hugely and never felt busy. Olivia and Tommy have looked after us so well in Suite Luk. Nothing was ever too much trouble and Liv particularly has a way of ensuring that your glass is never empty! Perfection! They were both absolutely delightful and a credit to VIP. We’ll be coming back next year. The highest complement we can give! Thank you for looking after us all so well. X

My large family of ten enjoyed an outstanding ski week at Bear Lodge in 1950 Les Arcs. Everything from the staff to the food to the facilities and the convenience (ordering equipment, passes, childcare) was excellent. Our chalet hosts were personable; they cooked our meals from scratch and all of our party was impressed with their culinary skills. The selection of wine served with the meals was extensive and well curated. The chalet itself was comfortable, well architected and spacious. We highly recommend Bear Lodge for a delightful ski week. We will return.

We have had such a super holiday - the whole package was brilliant- the chalet was superb in every way - so comfortable Beth’s food was out of this world - from tasty breakfasts, delicious dinners to yummy afternoon cakes We’ll be back!

I have been impressed from start to finish and I thank our Chalet hosts Beth and Theo who looked after us so well- wonderful cooking even accommodating my gf diet. The chalet was just what was promised, easy access to the slopes, ski hire the easiest ever, impressive chalet perfect for our group, brilliant childcare ( thanks Charlotte), relaxing spa and expert tuition. So while VIP is no budget holiday company, it was perfect for our big family get together after so many months apart during the COVID crisis.

What an incredible holiday this was. From the food to the slopes I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I’m not much of a skier but this really has made me want to come back every year to try it out again. - I would say though that the main highlight has been Beth and Theo. Extremely personable, talented and helpful. I’m not sure I have ever tasted scrambled eggs like that, it’s a tough debate who’s were better. The food every day was ridiculously high quality and I feel I am going back an extra stone heavier (thank you both for the recipes as well). Something which is definitely worth mentioning is that they always were smiling no matter how early they had to be here or whether they were working on their Birthday (honoured to have shared Beth’s Day). Overall they both were extremely impressive and approachable. Please see below for the following further positives and considerations (feel free to ignore or take any of these): Main positives - Holiday staff were amazing - Ski kit - Food all week - Intersport Colleagues - Really nice decor - Separate lockers - Access to slopes - Cinema seating was next level - The Wellness area was extremely high quality (heat of the bubbles could have been hotter) - The welcome to the hotel - Quiz night (fantastic questions) - Water refilled everyday, special shout out to Beth and Theo - Recommendations from Beth and Theo about where to go - The weather Further considerations - Middle room tended to flood every time a shower was taken - Shower gel locations in showers. Ideally would have these brackets by the power buttons (in both room shower and mens changing room shower) - Cinema sometimes wasn’t the right film (went to the reception and this was changed straight away, extremely helpful) - Light switch in the middle of bed sometimes caused chaos - Handle on the balcony outside would be really helpful (may have been locked out once, most probably my fault) - Gym / pool opening before 8:00 would be fantastic as normally breakfast is served at the same time so find - The lift was temperamental In summary, a brilliant journey. I am already considering my next unexpected journey to a VIP location in the near future. Additionally, looking forward to seeing how the “logistics team” get on tomorrow morning. Overall just a wonderful holiday and a real break! Beth and Theo were wonderful! The food was consistently wonderful! Loved the pub quiz. All the staff were great! The ability to book lessons with ESF was great and the concierge team were amazing! Wonderful to have a car park attached to the building. Few snags with the building: Our balcony door didn’t shut unless pushed by two people One of our guests got “accidentally” locked out on the balcony. Handle on the outside would be useful. The Hot-tub heating didn't work most days and likewise the steam room was really on/off during the week. Slightly larger ski boot locker would have been useful.

Excellent week in Chalet Luk in the Bear Lodge. The chalet was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Beth and Theo were fantastic hosts, who made sure we were very well looked after. They were excellent with our son Raff and adapted to his needs and wants (which is not easy!) without any fuss. They were extremely personable and made everyone in the chalet feel very relaxed. Having been on several chalet trips I would rate them as some of the best. The set up for children is fantastic at Bear Lodge. Charlotte our VIP nanny was amazing and looked after Raff so well. He had the best time in ESF Ski School followed by his afternoon in the bear club and each day we picked him up he was smiling and laughing. I would definitely recommend VIP ski to other families with young children. The usual morning stress was reduced by the insane proximity to the slopes - lesson pick up from the door was amazing! Good facilities, having the pool to relax in at the end of the day was great. the hot tub and steam room didn’t seem to be working all of the time. Great skiing, so easy to get onto the slopes. Would definitely recommend the night skiing! Overall great week and I would definitely come back to the Bear Lodge!

Such a lovely chalet made so homely by our helpful and friendly hosts Beth and Theo! They were so great with my three year old son, even making him pancakes every morning in the shape of a rocket! Above and beyond. Re the facilities it was a shame the hot tub was out of order/not actually hot the majority of nights we were here, and the hammam wasn’t working the first few days either. Also a bit of confusion on our first day of skiing where we didn’t know where we were collecting our skis or when our son’s ski school was starting! It all worked out great in the end, and we understand there are a few teething problems to iron out.
