Despite the increasing numbers of Omicron and consequently the increasing amount of pre, during and post-holiday admin, we and our friend had, quite simply, the best time and feel incredibly lucky that we got to hit the slopes.
Ski Solutions and VIP Ski were brilliant at answering our myriad of questions, allaying our concerns and keeping us posted on developments on a daily basis in the run up to our holiday and VIP Ski were on hand throughout to assist in any way they could, even printing out reams of paper to assist in our journey home.
Being the first guests of the season (and in Avoriaz before French rules meant Brits couldn’t go on holiday) there were obviously a few niggles, but the chalet hosts and Marc and his team bent over backwards to sort them out as best they could. It really did feel like a VIP service and we were reassured that should the worst happen and we contracted covid and had to isolate in France, we would be looked after. Happily this didn’t happen and we simply had the best run up to Christmas.
Ellie, Anna and Jack, our chalet hosts, were so friendly and down to earth and their cooking was just fantastic. We were asked whether/how often we’d like the bedrooms and bathrooms serviced and they were really approachable and open to all feedback and constructive criticism. They were especially good with the children (5-11) and weren’t phased at all when asked to buy chicken nuggets for the fussy 5 year old who then ate those every night! The children themselves loved the chalet team and felt very at ease with them all and happy children meant happy parents! Considering it was their first ever ski season and we were their first ever guests, we thought they were superb. Thank you guys!
Chalet Beluga itself was outstanding. Its proximity to the Prodains lift (a mere 5 second ski away from the door), its heated ski/boot room, luxury en-suite bedrooms and private spa, complete with steam room and pool meant we were all entertained- adults and kids! And there was even a lift! The layout of the chalet was brilliant and it easily served the needs of 3 families comprising 6 adults and 5 children.
Avoriaz itself was excellent for families and we can’t wait to go again - hopefully outside of a pandemic!
