    Hi Comments below: Overall, an excellent experience (apart from a few minor points detailed below) - the new Bear Lodge building and facilities were excellent and the staff very friendly and professional. Our chalet host, Megan, was delightful, and a pleasure to talk to. All the meals were well cooked, the cakes superb, and the rooms spotlessly clean. Full marks! The ski-in / ski-out is excellent - this advantage is not to be sniffed at! Few wall mounted racks near the door would help stack skis before exiting by the door? Overall, excellent accommodation and service. Minor points for noting/improvement: The "book a slot to fit your skis" clearly doesn't work as when told to come right down the queue was huge...either you stick to a time slot system of first come first served...? The bus transfer "loo-stop" on the way back was not good (layby on a busy road with a small bakery...). Better chose the bus station like on the way up to Arc 1950? Ski passes - my biggest gripe...here's the story. Paid for Paradiski full pass at £285 x4 (which EXCLUDED assurance) before leaving. On the bus transfer, overheard conversation with client as he paid for his - in Euros, INCLUDING assurance...worked out that the difference for me was £90 (comparing apples with apples). Discussed at front desk, agreed to cancel the "London" price paid and pay again locally in Euros - refund still not received a week later. If the difference was only a few pounds then not a problem (FX rates etc) but not £84 (the final difference). Surely pricing should be similar and the assurance option offered as important to know if this is in the price paid? One for management.     What a fantastic week, a great welcome and a great experience from start to finish. Charlie, Callum, Kristen, Liam and Steph did everything they could to make our week special. Service was exceptional, food gorgeous and we also had great company in the chalet. The sun shone all week and the conditions were great, what more could we ask for. Thank you until the next time

  • We are back, VIP are not quite yet…

    Great to be back on the mountains, frequent past user of VIP despite rug being pulled under us during lockdown and having to claim via our credit card. A good holiday, staff were friendly and hard working but the VIP finesse is missing at the moment. Examples: Steps - not touched all week causing slips and falls for others and a twinged knee ourselves hampering our skiing. Why both sets lower and upper steps were not cleared was beyond us, dangerous and makes chalet even less ski in ski out - see below… Food - was fine, not quite VIP though, the multiple options maybe don’t help your chefs. Also serving at 8pm is just too late when there are 24 guests as it’s gone past 10 and still eating. Wake Up drinks - one of your marketing USPs the request forms ran out and some mornings tea arrived in kit form with no spoons. If someone asks for a cup of tea with milk, why it had to be left outside with milk separate and teabag in with no spoon I still don’t understand. Some mornings fine. Ski In Ski Out - for the safety of future guests and speaking as experienced skiers you cannot continue to market this chalet as ski in ski out. The steps (see comments above) being cleared will tick the “ski out” box, but as we left they were still dangerous for anyone in any ski boot, snowboard boot or standard shoes - the side rail has snapped where someone fell through it slipping up! Ski in down Santons Red, well enjoy that, as (speaking as advanced skiers) it’s an ungroomed run, narrows significantly, is overused by chalet companies lauding their property as ski in, and it is hugely unpopular as any Google search will confirm. Please review your marketing as this simply isn’t safe and the free bus from the main lift area to near the chalet is every 20 minutes, can be tracked with the val disere app and is free of charge. The chalet is well positioned with easy return access by free bus (4 minutes trip) On the positives the staff were very helpful and the wellness centre was outstanding. With jus a little attention to detail (and a shovel!) VIP would be back with flying colours! Thank you for a good holiday and hopefully an amazing one next time.

  • Fantastic holiday - very well looked after in amazing chalet

    The photos do not do Bear Lodge justice. This is hands down the best chalet that we've ever stayed at and coupled with the service that we had from Lottie, Mimi and the guys at the bar all our expectations were surpassed. Food in the chalet was tasty and plentiful. The rooms are big and everything seems to have been thought of e.g. USB charging. The location is fantastic with ski in / out and perfect to ski in either Les Arcs or in 30 mins you can be in La Plagne. We would love to come back! We picked VIP Ski based on a previous trip taken pre-covid and we were so happy we did that. The staff really can't do any more for you and you feel taken care of as soon as you get out of Geneva airport. The property is new. There are some teething problems and things to be altered next year. One of the lifts didn't work for the whole time we were there and the hamman steam room didn't work for 2 of the days. And someone thought it was a good idea to build a bar where the nearest toilet is on another floor..... But these are small items against a wonderful holiday.

    From the moment we were greeted at the airport in Geneva to the moment we left the coach on the way back we received an exceptional experience from VIP ski. Altitude Lodge is in the perfect location right on the side of the piste and the chalet is modern, warm and cosy. The chalet hosts Tilly, Charlie and Callum were always on hand to give the best possible experience for our holiday, always going above and beyond expectations. The food during the week was exceptional so a special mention goes to Liam and Steph. The resort manager Kristen was also always around for anything that we needed, recommending and booking us a restaurant and taxis to and from Morzine for the Wednesday evening. All in all great service all round and we would definitely come back to the chalet with VIP in the future.

    This was my 6th time organising a chalet holiday with the same group, and everyone agrees it was the best so far. Guy & Ellie provided excellent food and service throughout the week, and Billie the nanny was so great with our 17 month old son. The chalet was perfectly located by Santons which made it very easy in the morning (and I found a way down from Piste M too), and the shuttle service was also very handy. We had a lot of last minute changes and issues which were dealt with very smoothly, and would not hesitate to stay with VIP again.

    An amazing chalet, spacious light bedrooms with great views, beautiful lounge/eating area, clean and contemporary. Very near slopes and all facilities, loved the pool and sauna after skiing every day. The staff, especially Frankie, Emma, Rachel and Kate were amazing! Wonderful delicious food every day, Best carrot cake ever! They were so kind, friendly, helpful and the whole VIP team a pleasure to deal with! Thankyou, we’ll be back!!

    We have had the best skiing holiday for years. The staff were fantastic, the food they cooked was of a very high standard. I didn’t see one guest without an empty plate The chalet was gorgeous and kept very clean, I will definitely be booking next year and would be very keen to go back to the same chalet, no 8 bellevarde is very special place Chalet staff were fantastic Well done VIP

  • Superb week in Les Arcs in the fantastic Bear Lodge

    We have just had s superb week in The Bear Lodge- the facilities are superb - the rooms spacious with lovely linen plenty of hot water for showers and baths and lots of storage. The morning started with a cups of tea delivered at time requested - to a lovely breakfast with a large selection of everything - the ski room was on to the piste - boot heaters etc… excellent equipment supplied and sorted in the large boot room as we arranged so already to ski first thing. We thoroughly enjoyed the wellness centre each evening to sooth our tired limbs. A Well stocked bar with lots of seating both comfy and bar stools made pre dinner drinks a treat Dinner was served every night by smiling efficient staff with nice wines with excellent fare and a good choice of menu. All in all the concept of this Lodge is excellent executed we will be back.

  • Fantastic holiday, with 1st class service from all the VIP Ski staff

    Prior to the holiday we were asked whether we would like to pre-book: skis, boards, passes, lessons, meals out and anything else. All items were organised perfectly, meaning we had little to arrange ourselves. Transfer to the Chalet was smooth and we were met by VIP staff and Ellie, as the person who would prepare and serve all the meals and look after the Chalet. Ellie was a superb and natural host with all meals of a very high quality indeed. Nothing was too much trouble. I could mention every VIP Manager and staff member as they were all friendly, helpful and professional. During the holiday we occasionally asked for lunches etc. to be booked and they were able to offer full advice and make the desired reservations for us. The Chalet itself is in a great position and right next to access for the slopes/skiing plus the shopping and entertainment areas of the village. The Chalet windows and balconies have full views over the mountains and at the end of the day ... the setting sun. We found everything very comfortable and the space just right for our 3 couples on the holiday. Each bedroom having its own en-suite; with common kitchen, dining and lounge areas with comfortable settees. We were lucky to have sunshine and fine snow for our week's skiing and I'm sure other reviews can give information about the many and varied pistes with neighbouring resorts and Switzerland. We would definitely go again!
