On the whole it was a nice holiday and the chalet hosts were very friendly and always willing to help. The Menoir is an amazing old house furnished nicely with warm floors in the bathrooms and comfortable beds, although being old it did have very noisy floor boards upstairs. But having used VIP twice previously i felt the quality was lacking in some areas this time compared to our previous 2 experiences. Having had to purchase our own flights the price for the chalet was still quite high compared to others so expectations on our part were also high. Our first encounter with staff at the airport was friendly but then had to walk with our luggage, skis and boots from one terminal to the other to pick up our transfer bus with little help from VIP staff. No water or mini snack was available on the minibus as previously provided and on the way back this was offered 10 mins before arrival to the airport! even though the journey was 1.5hrs. Minor things missing each day from the dining table, napkins, sugar, forks for desert etc. The day off for hosts we had no normal tea bags to make a cuppa and the fire kept going out each evening in the lounge shortly after lighting. The hot tub lid was so heavy to get on and off, we only used it once throughout the week plus it was split. Ice/snow was not cleared from the ski boot entrance nor the path to the hot tub which was quite dangerous. Dog poo was also regularly found outside the ski boots entrance which you had to keep stepping over, as not cleared away even though chalet staff were advised. We used to get a visit from the resort mgr at least once during our stay around dinner time but this did not happen at all. Plus the walk to both lifts especially the super morzine one, we felt was further than indicated online especially carrying your own skis that you couldn’t store close by. All the above we feel could be easily rectified and sincerely hope this constructive criticism is taken onboard for future guests and their VIP experience.
