This was my second Val D'isere chalet experience and my group's first experience. The second time around was as magical as the first time in 2017. I don't think you can get the same experience in the US in terms of mountain, accommodations, friendly hosts, and the entire catered experience. It was well worth the trek to France.
We stayed in Loft 2 of Aspen House which is a spacious apartment in a three story luxury building. It was as good of an experience as my first which was in an on-piste standalone chalet. Aspen House is very close to the main Val D'isere lifts (Solaise and Olympique) and the nightlife. I think this was a better experience for our group than being on-piste and disconnected from the town. It really depends on what you're looking for.
From the first day, Jeri and Emily, our hosts, provided us a warm and inviting chalet and helped us get settled in. Jeri and her team are exceptional chefs. Not having to worry about food each day was one thing but getting exceptionally prepared meals each day with friendly service and great music is going above and beyond. Jeri and her team also provided great restaurant and night life recommendations as well as mountain trail recommendations. Every detail was paid attention to.
I was enamored with my first chalet experience at Val D'isere many years ago but the second time was just as special due in large part to VIP Ski and the exceptional service from their great team.
