Good bits:
All staff welcoming and professional, Lauren and Rhuaridh particularly attentive in the restaurant, Alaw helpful at reception.
Food generally good quality - fish cake starter, fried goats cheese starter, pork loin main, chocolate cookie tea time cake were highlights. Breakfast smoothies also great.
Everything working properly (wasn’t the case last time we came).
Bar staff stepped up well in response to our non-drinking of alcohol. Especially when we won the quiz and Ewan arranged massages in place of the usual prize - much appreciated. All the mocktails they made were great too.
Heated ski room and piste access excellent.
To improve:
Dining in the restaurant felt a confused experience, with a mixture of couples, adult groups, families with young children all mixed up across the restaurant. Also the large disparity between people who treated it as a nice dinner out and wore shoes and a nice set of clothes, and those who wore baggy tracksuits and flip flops added to the confusing setting. Perhaps a good idea to ask people what they want at the start of the week, and separate appropriately.
Would like to see some more traditional French food at dinner.
For the price, food was too often passable. Service times, plating, and food temperature were quite varied throughout the week.
Breakfast portion sizes weren’t consistent, ordering a full English got you a huge plate of food whereas the daily special or pancake were quite small.
Smoked salmon on the continental breakfast was very unappealing, small pieces with lots of grey bits in a big pile.
Some bottles of water on the coach during the transfer would have been good.
