This was our fourth stay with VIP Ski, our third in Chalet Merlot - one of the Bellevarde Lodges in Val d'Isere, and though we have always thoroughly enjoyed each of our previous VIP holidays this particularly stay surpassed expectations. The chalet itself has had a bit of an internal facelift and is the now the proud product of a summer break refurbishment, we loved the fresh feel of the chalet and thought that the newly carpeted stairs were a hugely welcoming addition. Whatever refurbishment had taken place however, was very quickly overshadowed by the incredible service that chalet hosts Matt & Bryony provided us with. Where do we start..... We have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed a lot of skiing holidays which varying companies, VIP have always provided us with a great all round stay, but Matt & Bryony brought something very special to this year's holiday. To consider that this is their very first season beggars belief, they ran the chalet with the confident expertise of those with years behind them already. They welcomed us in for breakfast each day with broad smiles and keen banter whilst ensuring that each of our breakfast orders were precise and correct (...'how do you prefer your porridge, was the consistency yesterday ok or would you prefer more milk this morning? Ground cinnamon? Honey? What type of milk would you prefer, almond?'). There was never any hint of wanting to get their morning chores out of the way quickly so as to get clicked in to their own skis as quickly as possible, they made every effort in ensuring that we had all been given the very best breakfast service possible before attending to the thorough cleaning and tidying of the chalet and then finally out to the pistes. We always returned to a delightful afternoon tea, each daily treat was baked with care and skill and would have made many a keen baker proud. The chunky chocolate orange cookies were divine and melted in the mouth!!! When they both returned to the chalet to start preparations for the evening meal, their smiles would enter the chalet before they did (Matt has particularly good teeth which we chose to compliment him on every day!). They were happy to muck in with the kids and play in their games, they were keenly attentive and with an eagle's eye were asking us if we needed another refreshment before we had even realised ourselves that our cup/glass was empty. Every evening meal was cooked to perfection (the red meat was beautifully seared and left rare in the middle - though they were quick to point out that it would be no trouble at all to cook it through more should any of us prefer the meat to be cooked a little more - none of us did however, it was always perfect!). It was beautifully plated up and served with the confidence of a top restaurant waiter. They were very happy to join us for a game of charades after dinner one evening and provided us with much hilarity, and were also equally happy to share their run down 'Le Face' with them one afternoon proving that at all times they were the most genuinely welcoming hosts whose company we genuinely enjoyed to be in. Matt & Bryony have raised the bar to a very high level, they should be exceptionally proud of themselves for the effort that they apply to their daily responsibilities as chalet hosts and the impressively high level at which they are working. They are nothing short of superstars! An absolute credit to VIP Ski! Well done!! All the very best for the rest of the season, we only hope that you choose to stay again next year - we shall return!! This was our first for being away for Christmas, holidaying with VIP Ski, Val d'se're and Chalet Club Bellevarde. The whole experience was magical and this was all down to the Chalet staff and VIP team for making our holiday the best Christmas ever. The whole staff catered so well as a strong team, working tirelessly to make our stay perfect. And, they did just that and more. We had the time of our life. The chalet staff were always pleasant, happy, professional, helpful, caring, attentive, resourceful, efficient... and much more. It was blissful. They made us feel like we were one big family. This being our very first time away from home for Christmas made us quite apprehensive. The Chalet offers so much comfort, with two hot tubs, pool, saunas and steam room to enjoy and relax. Carefully looked after by the best Chalet staff and high quality Chef's ever. The food and drinks exemplar, perfect cuisine throughout the day, with a good selection that catered for all diets. The location just perfect - we could ski down to the lifts. Or, we had a choice of catching the VIP transport bus to the ski lifts and, on return back to the Chalet in the afternoons. Walking into town was pleasant too, and only 10 mins, while looking at beautiful mountains, ski slopes and valleys. Wonderful and faultless. We would highly recommend VIP Ski and, we will most certainly be returning for 2016 Christmas, if not sooner. We were originally set for Morzine, but as the snow hadn't arrived, VIP Ski moved us to Val d'sere. We would like to express our sincere thank you to VIP Ski for this and the drivers for their courtesy and reliability. Above all, our personal thanks and gratitude go to all the Chalet Staff and two Chef's. You made our Christmas so wonderful and happy. You all worked so hard and we really want to thank you with our sincere and heartfelt appreciation. Christmas is very special, and you made it magical. Thank you xx
