We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

    A very special week in the most beautifully renovated manor house with an amazing team looking after us. Delicious food. Not too rich which was nice. Location is perfect for skiing in morzine or getting the bus to avoriaz. Also lovely to be in the town and able to pop out and walk around for a drink before supper or a bit of shopping. The perfect skiing week. Thank you vip ski team!

    We had a fantastic stay with Lottie in Aspen House 5. Lottie and Conor (her sub chef) were fantastic. The food was brilliant and lots of it. The apartment was excellent and also very comfortable. Lots of hot water, nice beds and lovely towels. We loved the sauna, steam room and spa. All the other staff were excellent and really friendly and helpful. We didn't use the car service at all but next time might consider it (although you do have to be organised to book the cars!). We only have a few suggestions: 1. An honesty fridge for beer and soft drinks seems really wierd considering the amount we are paying. For a non-drinker there would have been very limited options and not included except water. It is also strange to then have the manager come in at the end of the week and ask for (in our case) €20! We think a supply of beer, soft drinks and mixers should be included in the price. 2. There is a lot of food wasted especially cakes. Maybe allow the guests to keep some in tupperwares for the next day would be a good thing if guests want it. 3. I came back one morning after a fall. The resort manager came in, whilst I was lying on the sofa, and in whispered words (which I could hear) started berating my chalet host for not having a clean enough kitchen. Firstly was that necessary, secondly she didn't ask if it was ok to come in and have a meeting when I was there and fourthly what she asked my host to do meant that she had to hoover and I couldn't sleep! I didn't complain but I think you might want to get some feedback on the senior management in the resort and how they work with the hosting staff. It all seemed a bit odd to me and OTT. I'm not the judge of the standards of kitchen cleanliness but our hostess seemed to leave it in a great condition. 4. There is a habit of walking in and out of apartments by all the staff and actually they should check with guests first if they are happy for that to happen. We were relaxed about that but other guests might find that strange? 5. I had to ask them to close our door as it always slammed and we were woken every morning by either the bread person or our hostess. This is a door issue more than a people one. 6. Our fire was broken all week and no-one came to fix this.

    Hamish was a fantastic chalet host. He did a brilliant job looking after us all. He went out of his way to keep the chalet immaculate and ensure we had everything we need. Thank you for accommodating our request for a shower after skiing on the morning of transfer day. The chalet was beautiful, a big improvement on the old Aspen Lodge building. We were disappointed at the quality of wine provided. The red in particular was so poor we did not drink any. When it is possible to buy such good value red wine in france this seems odd. In addition, I really think you should provide your chalet hosts with an electric hand mixer. it is so time consuming for the chalet hosts to whip cream and mix cake batters by hand when electric whisks can be bought so cheaply, especially given how much guests pay to stay in the chalets.

    Great holiday, a couple of changes to the VIP experience that seemed a bit short sighted but as always staff were excellent. Wanting to charge for cappuccino & tea - other holidays always had tea & coffee facilities set up for guests to use Canopes- one big tray of naff pastry based canopes. Not the usual standard. Poor communication - welcome meeting didn’t mention childcare arrangements as it’s the Nannie’s day off. No mention to us parents regarding ski school presentation so we missed that. All things that can be easily fixed

    We had the most amazing week in Chalet Bellevarde. Hannah & Lily were the perfect hosts and their meals were fabulous. They made an 11 yr olds birthday extra special and made him a fantastic birthday cake which he LOVED! Thanks girls.

  • Superb hosting and service

    We stayed at Valdez suite as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids 6 & 4). VIP ski could not have been more welcoming. As an example there was no snow in Morzine (our resort) resulting in us having to get a bus in the morning to Avoriaz which was packed - and as we discovered on the first day- not easy with two small kids and ski gear. VIP ski offered to taxi us - for no extra cost - to Avoriaz every day. They were also very flexible with food in terms of meal times for the kids and dietary requirements. Louisa (first 5 days) and Sophie (last 2 days) (in chalet hosts) were really friendly and warm towards the children building a rapport with them and making the kids’ holiday even better. Guillaume and Charlie (managers) were brilliant and very knowledgeable. The menu of food was varied and good quality. We will definitely be returning to a VIP ski chalet

    All 3 of us were apprehensive about our first Christmas away from home, without our son/brother who is on his year off. From the minute we arrived at Bear Lodge we were welcomed, looked after, waited on and all our expectations were exceeded. Sadly, the weather/snow were disappointing but obviously that was out of anyone’s control! The staff at Bear Lodge went above and beyond to look after us in every way possible - the bar staff, the cleaners, the waiters/waitresses, the ski hire staff, you name it, everything had been thought of and we LOVED our time. It wasn’t just the facilities, location and service that impressed us, it was the ‘feeling’ created by all the staff that was an unexpected bonus. We found it hard to say goodbye (especially to Charlotte & Sylvie) but we look forward to going back - highly, highly recommend
