This is our second year in a VIP chalet in Morzine and the standards were as high as last year. Our chalet host, Lucinda, was professional and efficient, as well as being absolutely lovely to talk to and great with the kids. She worked hard to ensure that all our needs were met and remained calm and relaxed the entire time. Her cooking was incredible and the chalet was kept immaculate at all times.....as much as is possible with 3 small children in residence! She was unobtrusive when need be but chatty and friendly as well....a skill that is appreciated and not easily mastered by all! Overall, our chalet was fabulous and the stay was made even better by having someone so mature and friendly as our host to ensure it all ran smoothly. We also had a VIP nanny, Holly, who was wonderful. Managing 3 children and ski gear is not an easy task but she took it all in her stride. She was kind and warm with the kids, but firm when required......a long day of ski school made the children tired and hungry but she managed melt downs and hilarity with equal calmness. She was also brilliant with us as a family....chatty, friendly and funny. She fitted in with the family brilliantly and meant that our holiday was relaxed and we could ski or even have Iunch without the children....a real luxury! A word should also be said about the resort manager, Will. We arrived and through various miscommunications we had no ski passes or ski hire. Will dealt with this incredibly quickly, without a moment of stress and it was dealt with before it became a problem and we were all ready for ski school on Monday morning. We have had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the sun and the snow in equal measure! Thanks to all.
We had a wonderfull time in chateau and the hosts were amazing. The food was spectacular and we really had a nice time. Thank you so much Ella, Jamie, Cassie and Helene for making are holiday even better.
Taiga Lodge is a great chalet which worked well for our two families in terms of bedroom layout, terrace with hot tub and a fantastic cinema room which our kids loved! Jess and Dexter have been fantastic hosts and looked after us really well. They served delicious food, accommodated our requests and were great with our five boys who ranged in age from 4 - 11 years. All the VIP staff in Meribel have been friendly and helpful with a great transport service to and from the slopes. Topped off by good snow and lots of sunshine, it's been a fabulous ski holiday!
A great week had by the family helped by decent snow and great weather blue skies and sunshine although chilly on some days! Returning for our 2nd week with VIP (we came last Feb half term) we love the ski in ski out, hot tub, pool and the convenience of the concierge to pick you up after a hard day on the slopes. Chalet staff were friendly and chatty and great with our kids. We had a nanny which really helped as we had one 5 yr old for who a mornings ski was plenty and our son (nearly 8) could rest his legs if he wanted! This meant everyone had a great holiday. The chalet food has improved since last year and having a choice is great but we found 3 course every night a struggle especially as Val D'Isere has some great restaurants on the piste! Overall the VIP formula works for us, there's always room for improvements as with any service but none are really deal breakers for us and we will return next year!!!!
