Testimonials

Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

So much of these trips boils down to the chalet hosts taking care of you through the week and VIP did an amazing job with this - charming, friendly, helpful and excellent food courtesy of the pair hosting us for the week. Full credit to them. Excellent holiday.

  • Great week skiing

Food quality was excellent and we lucked out with Ant who is a pastry chef for a chalet host. Ant was very flexible with meal serving times and our toddler greatly appreciated the vast quantities of fine food. Our son was very well looked after by two nannies, Jess and Teri, who were both fantastic. He had a lovely time going to the local soft play, having hot chocolate, going up in the bubble to top of Chenus, and being transported in a sledge. The in-chalet boot and ski service by White Storm was brilliant and were very amenable to swapping to a snowboard towards the end of the week. Courchevel is a fantastic ski resort with incredible blue and green runs, as well as lovely wide red runs. All bedrooms, bathrooms and living room have restricted height. This was a major problem for our friend who is 6'3" as well as those of us who are shorter (5'6"). We hadn't expected that access to the boot room is down two flights of external stairs, which was a little tricky with the large amount of snow and ice!

  • Great snow + Great people

Our first trip to The Alps and the long travel from Australia was duly rewarded. The bus transfer was simple and before we knew it we were sipping bubbles and toasting beers in our Club Chalet. The "concern" about sharing a chalet with strangers was quickly dismissed as we made some great friends over the course of the week, the conversation was always lively, educated (mostly educated), polite and genuine. The fact that almost every guest met up down at CocoRico's for drinks and dancing to 'Cotton Eye Joe" on Thursday afternoon was testament to the quality of the fun people staying in the chalet. The VIP staff were just great! Nothing was a problem, they start off slowly but they engaged us as friends and they took the time to share knowledge and life stories as the days unfolded. Sam's kitchen skills are first class, he is the real thing, very knowledgeable in so many culinary areas, thanks for the great food Sam (and your assistant)! Jack led a good chalet crew that included Alicia, Kieran and Luke and they were quality hosts over a week that just would not stop snowing. Special shout out to Kieran for a speedy recovery after a little accident on the slopes, I hope you bounce back quickly. We enjoyed the open fire, the food, the vino, the free flow beers, the pool and the sauna next door. We enjoyed the hot tub on the balcony after a hard days skiing but most of all we enjoyed the "people" we met and the laughter shared. Thanks for the memories! Darryl

  • Short break

Chalet was ski in, ski out and all the VIP staff looked after us very well. The only negative was our transfer to our resort from Geneva. We had a long wait at the airport for the Altibus and then we had a long, cold and uncomfortable wait at Moutiers for the local bus to Meribel. Really think one of the VIP vehicles should have picked us up from Moutiers.

Pros: excellent food in the evening. Sam is to truly commended on both the food and his engagement with guests Cons: really uninterested staff. I have never been on a holiday with VIP with such an uninterested and unengaged chalet team. It was just a culmination of multiple small things but it was just so lacklustre and lacking in leadership and just appeared disorganised. Many of the ceiling lights in the room didn’t work and one was just plain missing. Not a bulb. The whole fitting. The steam room was broken. As was the door on the sauna. The whole thing just felt so complacent. This is in stark contrast to multiple previous holidays with VIP. I emailed the London office but have had no reply. Next year, for the first time in many years, I will not be going with VIP.

Dear Thomas. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed Sam's food, but very sorry that you found the other staff members to be uninteresed and disorganised. I have spoken with the team directly and will be monitoring service levels in the coming weeks. Our maintenance team have addressed the issuses you have raised. I can only apologise that we let you down but I do hope you will consider skiing with us agin in the future. Paul Geddes - Area Operations Manager

  • Once again nothing was too much trouble

VIP have got it completely right, from first contact, to arrival at the chalet, everything is seamless. Chalet hosts are always absolutely lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble, our hosts at Chalet Kaila, Kate and Stephen are a credit to VIP. Chalet Kaila itself is beautiful throughout, very spacious with hot tub, sauna & perfectly situated less than 100 paces from the Super Morzine lift. Whilst still very quiet, its also just moments from the village and a mini 'train' takes the short hop to the other lift (which is less than 10 minutes flat walk in ski boots) every 15 minutes. Morzine itself has a pretty situation with a lively village feel, rather than just a concrete manufactured resort it has great links for ample skiing choice. We've chosen Chalet Kaila before and certainly will again, thanks Guys !

Very comfortable chalet, well located for both Pleney and Super Morzine lifts, and very quiet despite being in centre of town The chalet hosts made us very welcome, looking after us far too well! Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Lisa, Charlie, Tom & Adam for a great holiday.

A lovely Chalet well equipped and great service from the team in Club Alaska. Lisa, Charlie, Tom and Adam made us feel very welcome and very well looked after. Fantastic food all week long. I would recommend the Club service after this year and last in Val D'Isere, it is great to have the choice of food each night. A hard working team who are a credit to VIP which makes me want to come back over and over again. I can't remember how many times I've been with VIP but I'm never disappointed so never look elsewhere for my ski holiday! Hope all he team enjoy the rest of the season and may be back this year!
