Booking/pre-arrival: we were looking for a 4-5 night stay which is not really what VIP seem to do except last minute/within 7-10d which is fully understandable. This suited us fine as booked week before trip. Sales team were very helpful when discussing options of accommodation and transfers which are a limited/expensive when not booking around weekends. We struck lucky on so many levels not least having the chalet to ourselves (just 3 of us!). Sales not so helpful booking ski gear which we requested on Friday before our arrival the following Tuesday - we were told they had already sent in their bookings for the following week which seemed a bit poor, an email to the resort team could have sorted this I feel. However I booked online via the recommended shop and all was good. VIP have a “myVIP” portal on their website where you can organise such things as ski hire, passes etc however this is only available up to 4d pre departure which again is totally understandable but was not explained to us during the booking process despite referral to it for such options.
VIP met us on arrival (one member of the group arrived at 1am - Mark was there), escorted us to our chalet where we met Alex who was standing for the regular chalet hosts who were not available the day we arrived. Lovely afternoon tea was had before collecting skis followed by a superb evening meal after a walk round Avoriaz. While VIP do have a single info document in the lounge area with key info, a bit more information about how to get the best from the VIP experience would have been helpful. Little and more important things such as room and towel rail thermostats, instructions for the pool/hamam use, time/menu for breakfast/dinner, what was expected of us re fridge items/use etc etc - some were referred to in conversations with the chalet hosts but not everything to all of us. Anna and Henry (the regular chalet hosts at Chalet Beluga) were back over the next day or so and normal service resumed. Generally food excellent, wines very easy to drink (3red and 3 white available as part of package, others available on request/£), chalet lovely and warm, great drying facilities, ski in/out, beds comfy but you do get the piste directly outside the chalet posted occasionally through the night, fine for me, did bother lighter sleepers a bit but not a serious issue.
Anna, Henry and Mark super helpful and certainly made our experience VIP.
