Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. Very pleasant week of late spring skiing; 5 days out of 6 of glorious sunshine. Aspen Lodge is exactly as we expected, having stayed with VIP several times over the years. Good accommodation, right in the town centre and very convenient for the ski lift. Our chalet host, Tom, was a very nice guy and gave us good information on mountain restaurants. Not our most attentive host, but his heart was in the right place. We got everything we wanted with a little bit of prodding at times. We found the food a little heavy going and wished we had requested a lighter menu. There were only 3 adults and one child in the chalet, but we all had similar thoughts on this matter. The best food was the parsnip and apple soup (we were all agreed that we would have been happy with a few bowls of that and a couple of baguettes) and the Thai vegetarian curry that we requested instead of duck on the last night. Our thoughts - and I believe I have given this feedback before - is that the menu is too complicated. After a day on the slopes, we would much rather have simple food with good ingredients - spag Bol, chicken & chips, fondue, charcuterie etc... I am sure there are other guests who love the food, but we just felt that it was too complicated, heavy and fussy. Our nanny, Yasmin, was excellent. We felt very comfortable leaving our 4 month old son with her. This was a very big deal for us. All in all, it was a very enjoyable holiday. As our first ever holiday with our baby son, it was enhanced by the child care. Not quite as good as Zermatt last year, but that is because France could learn a thing or two from Switzerland in terms of mountain restaurants and après ski. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Fantastic VIP experience once again. Rich super professional, producing great food with a cheerful smile, and Natalie who our children miss already - ever enthusiastic with a non stop array of exciting activities. Thank you!
First and foremost in my mind is that our chalet hosts, Matthew and Sue, were absolutely first class. They are the perfect team: Sue is a brilliant cook and was very warm and caring to everyone - adults and children alike - whilst Matthew was a very twinkly eyed and quietly amusing host who was always quick to mix the perfect gin and tonic, whip up a hot chocolate for tired children or to wrestle the cover from the hot-tub for us. The chalet was utterly spotless and they both worked tirelessly to ensure that we were happy, comfortable and relaxed at all times. I would go back to any chalet that they were hosting. Amazing. We also really appreciated that David Kean called before we arrived to make sure everything was in order, kindly booking a table at the Coeur de Cristal for us for our first lunch! He also popped in several times to check that everything was on track. We thought he was charming and of course we had nothing but praise for the team every time he visited. It was also very reassuring that Rachael covered so much detail about the nanny and the children's food before we left: she was really efficient and professional and her efforts paved the way for a very stress free time with the children. Becca was our nanny and the greatest compliment that I can give is that we hardly saw her, i.e. we absolutely trusted her to look after and entertain the two three year olds as they seemed incredibly happy and well stimulated every day. Becca was also very helpful in bathing the two little ones every night as well as supervising tea when the older children were around, which meant that the grown ups were able to enjoy an indulgent cup of tea in the hot tub most evenings. The driver service was also fantastic: cheerful and efficient drivers who were chatty and friendly and always helped with the small children and associated kit. It was also appreciated that they had booster seats available at all times. And finally, Becky in the office managed our booking perfectly from start to finish: helping us to choose the chalet and sorting everything out. So, it could not have been a better holiday for our group. We all returned feeling relaxed and refreshed, albeit with slightly tighter waistbands! Thank you very much indeed.
