We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

  • Nice week in Morzine

    We have had a great week in Morzine and really enjoyed the chalet. The location is perfect, it is a very comfortable chalet for a large group of people and the hot tub is a great addition. Matt, Milly and Iona were really welcoming and we enjoyed their company throughout the week. They were always very calm in the kitchen and would join in with the conversation when appropriate. They produced some lovely breakfasts, afternoon teas and dinners, so thank you! Some constructive criticism would be that sometimes the attention to detail was lacking and simple adjustments would’ve made the service even better. The first two days, we didn’t have gluten free bread and we were often having to ask for things, rather than them being preempted. For example, we would have to ask for more wine, salt and pepper, bowls on the table and toilet roll for the room. When pancakes were offered as a special, there wasn’t enough maple syrup for everyone, so we had to ration it. We were made aware that we were the last guests of the season, and it definitely had an end of season feeling, so we felt that things weren’t being purchased as the chalet would be closing. I also received a WhatsApp from Guillaume before travelling asking how we wanted the rooms configured and about dietaries. He hadn’t noted our gluten free option so I had to remind him (and we still didn’t get gluten free bread) and the rooms weren’t set up how we wanted. Milly did quickly rectify this, which we appreciated. I then didn’t meet or hear from Guillaume for the rest of the week until the final day when he came in to tell us the bus was arriving early. I think Resort Managers need to be more present or the original WhatsApp message should come from the hosts that will be looking after us. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and enjoyed our trip with VIP, but these adjustments would make the service a lot better.

    VIP live up to the standard once again. Aspen is in a great location, close to slopes (3mins walk) and close to shops! The food Tatty cooked was amazing, and catered for all dietary requirements and my 9 month old dinners! All of the nanny’s were fantastic, Sophie, Katie and Anna were all brilliant with our little one. Would highly recommend them, so you can get out on the slopes! Only negative is the coffee is awful! And the bed linen could use a refresh! Highly recommend!

    The bedrooms are all a good size and beautifully decorated with great bathrooms. The food was of a high standard. We had 2 vegans in our party and although we were only a chalet of 6 our host ably produced 2 meals every night so no-one’s experience was compromised. The wines included were nicer than we have had with other operators so we did not need to consider paying for an upgraded wine package. Access to the slopes is relatively good once you know where you’re going. The ski area is fabulous, large number of blue and red runs so this resort is ideal for intermediate level skiers. .

    Such an amazing stay in Aspen 3. Tati was absolutely incredible - very welcoming, amazing food (whilst having to cook for a baby and pescatarian) and bubbly personality! Nothing was ever too much trouble. Gwen was also amazing and looked after us on Tati’s day off. Great welcome call a week before arrival with Cleodie to ensure all our needs / dietary requirements were met. Very professional service! The Concierge Team were also super helpful throughout our stay - making / changing restaurant reservations for us on a daily basis. Nanny / babysitting service was great - took them to soft play and out in the snow! Sophie was lovely and a real lifesaver for the trip! Only thing we would change was the bedding/bed linen (definitely needs an upgrade) and the coffee needs improving …

    The dinners were great but some canapés weren’t that good (we had chopped up sausages in one of the nights) and also breakfast I felt like I was been inconvenient by asking what I wanted in advance to be available the next day. The staff was great, polite and fun to be around and very good with the chalé work but I just didn’t think when I asked for food requests, they were very welcoming by them.
