    A long awaited holiday to see our daughter, who is the chalet host for Mont Fort this season. We have all had the most marvellous time, due to a number of important factors: The chalet is superb, very comfortable with a fantastic sitting area facing south, the balcony a sun trap for afternoon tea. The location of the chalet is excellent for the Medran lift and an added bonus having a locker at the lift for boots and skis. The location is also fantastic for the non-skier who wishes to use the lifts to meet us for lunch and have the ability for easy access to the chalet during the day. The ES ski school recommended by VIP, catered for Granny age 87, having never been skiing by giving her a taste of the slopes using a chair on skis with all of us skiing around her. An experience they kindly videod and she says she will always treasure. We had a fantastic private instructor that managed to cater for differing standards and ages enabling us to all have fun. The menus that Amelia has to cook for her guests were delicious, especially the duck and the beef which we were informed are favourite with the guests. The standard VIP expect of their staff is excellent and Laura, Matt, Tom, Amy and Amelia seem to be a very happy hard working group. Well done to them all. Family Crawford

  • Good chalet but food and service could be better

    Good points: nice chalet, outdoor hot tubs, spa with swimming pool and sauna next door, working fireplace, friendly and helpful staff (particular thanks to Alice, Olivia and Becks), perfect weather the week we were there! Development points: food was below expectations - was a lot better last year at VIP Club in Alpe D'Huez, canapés in particular were poor, cakes were all gluten-free (not as tasty). We had a major issue with the mattress in our room, my girlfriend couldn't sleep the first night, we complained, nothing was done until day 3. Rooms are very hot even with the heating turned off. Weird having two separate boot rooms - why can't they be connected? Beer on tap ran out and staff didn't know how to change the keg/didn't let us do it ourselves. Menu choices are a mess - people forget what they ordered, ask to change, on the last night there was no starter for me because someone asked to change and I ended up with nothing (and the worst thing was, no-one even noticed or apologised - and the whole table was waiting to start eating theirs!) - simple solution would be to have a print-out of people's choices as a reminder. We also had some confusion with our baggage arriving to the wrong terminal in Geneva on arrival - and poor communication on this. Overall, we had a fantastic week, but just a few little irksome issues that made it less than perfect. Thanks again to the chalet girls!

    We've been back two or three days and we're missing it a lot. Very good ski in ski out location, comfortable chalet, very good food (thanks Alex) and brilliant weather. We'd not been to Alpe d'Huez before but were very pleasantly surprised - fantastic scenery and lots of, for us, very manageable runs, including the supposedly black Sarenne. For a meal out, La Cremaillere was excellent. Just one point for improvement in the chalet - the kitchen area needs a better extraction system - it was too cold to have the windows open!

    Just to reiterate my friend Natalie's comments. We were seriously impressed last week, not only by how lovely the chalet is but also how brilliant Molly and Josh were. Warm, welcoming and attentive to every need. They are doing a fantastic job! Needless to say, the food was excellent and we were definitely spoilt with 3 courses every evening. I thoroughly recommend this chalet and we hope to be back in the future. Thanks again, VIP get it right every time!

    Fabulous holiday. Chalet very convenient as only a short walk to town centre or PLENY Lift.. Chalet staff and food excellent although chalet a bit cramped for 12 people so holiday rating can only be 4 star. VIPSKI service also excellent. Have no hesitation in recommending them and will certainly be using them again. Do not delay - book today!!

    Our group of 10 enjoyed very much the stay in Bellacima lodge. The staff was very helpful and kind. As I'm myself working in service business I understand that without honest comments it's not possible to improve service. Our overall experience, as said, was very good but there are certain small things you could think if you want to satisfy the most demanding customers. - we understanded that the staff wanted to leave the lodge in the evenings in time and they wanted to clean the kitchen quickly. It was a bit annoying that the staff was washing the dishes (and making noises of that work) the very same moment we were enjoying main course of our dinner. It would help if there was some kind of partition curtain and door between the kitchen and dining room. I understand that it should have been built when the house was built. But maybe you could come up with something. - also in the mornigns the noises from the kitchen distrubed a bit, at least the people who tried to sleep in the bedroom next to the kitchen. I know it's not easy to make breakfast without noise but still this was a matter that bothered a little - a 'proper English breakfast' is maybe not the most wanted breakfast for every one. It would have been good service to ask the first day what we wanted to eat for breakfast. In the middle of the week we told that we would like to have porridge and our request was immediately taken into consideration. Berries we bought ourselves which was not a big thing but if we had been asked in the beginning we would have been even more satisfied. - the pick up service (to the slopes and back) worked very well even though we had 'two different groups' in our lodge. A small improvement suggestion: make a list on paper to the lodge where morning pick up times are marked. This is even more important when there are different pick up times for different groups. Once we had a bit of confusion for the pick up time. - champagne served the first and last evening is nice. The champagne should be chilled when served (8-10 degrees), ours was too warm. Easy thing to improve when there is snow on terrace;) - selection of DVD films was poor - bathroom towels could be changed every other day We left the lodge already 6 am the last morning. We didn't expect the staff to come and make us breakfast at 5.30 am. But they came and made us a light breakfast as we wanted. Very kind and good service! We were especially impressed of the good service attitude of Bellacima Lodge staff: Georgia and Ben.

    Booking arrangements easily completed with rapid and helpful feed back on any queries. Swiss Air flights OK apart from 1 hour delay on return journey and some confusion at check-in and boarding at Geneva. VIP staff there to "meet and greet", helpful and friendly and transfers completed without any undue trauma. Being met in Morzine and having luggage and equipment transferred to our rooms was very welcome. Pre-booked Lift passes etc. there on arrival. Valdez Suite well appointed and superbly located in the center of Morzine within easy reach (walking distance) off major lift systems. Charlotte, our chalet host, was a real treasure, delightful company, prepared some excellent food and kept us well supplied with very drinkable wine. Charlotte and Clair also looked after me well after I injured my knee and needed to go to the Medical Center. Very impressed that VIP organised a good dump of snow before we arrived and followed up with some bright sunny days afterwards. Pity I had to spend some of them sitting on the balcony nursing my knee. Overall good value for money although we thought the single occupancy fee was a little excessive.

    Most amazing week. It was like a dream. I was panicking before about how expensive it was but when I got there i genuinely felt it was money well spent and I am keen to re-book! Tamsin and Richard could not have been lovelier, the attention to detail was just the best and refuge Boua is so good it's like a cartoon ski chalet, best location, really cool layout, HOTTUB! Dinners and breakfasts were delicious, not too heavy and rich, just the best! Thank you both so much for looking after us so well. Xx
