Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

  • Little Zebra

Little Zebra is a pint sized but perfectly formed chalet in Meribel. Our chalet host Paddy was exceptional and totally made our experience. Hot tub was a lovely touch for those weary ski legs.

  • English Ambiance in Austria

    Susan Pelz 05 Jan 2017

Eleven of us (including a baby, a 3-, 10- and 14-year old) spent a week at Hotel Theodul in Lech, leaving on Jan. 2, 2017. We experienced the absolutely most friendly and accommodating staff anywhere, for which we are eternally thankful (especially having the tiny ones and their requirements). I am so grateful for everyone who works there, as they all deserve recognition. In addition to the staff and the service, the food was superb--hats off to the cook and the kitchen!! (The overall price was a bit more than we had expected, but I think having the wine included in dinner offset the charges!) The sauna and spa area was very relaxing, too, and very clean. However, there was a major disappointment for me, completely unexpected: the hotel is English through and through! I had no idea that we would be experiencing England in Austria! Please understand that the hotel is fantastic--the staff, food, etc., but it is not Austrian. I had initially contacted Hotel Theodul last winter, and they eventually related that there would be a change from a family-operated hotel to a company-operated hotel by VIP. Frau Walch forwarded my e-mail (in German) to VIP, and I received a response that someone would contact me--which never happened until I contacted VIP again in August. (Long story.) My husband is Austrian, and we raised our three children (now adults with children) bilingually (German spoken at home) in the US. One adult lives in Switzerland and uses German all the time, while the other two live in English-speaking countries and do not have the opportunity to utilize their language skills. For that reason, we have always made an effort to have family vacation holidays in German-speaking countries, giving them a chance to refresh their German, and to experience that culture again. That wasn't the case this time. I wish that VIP had made that fact clear. I missed the dirndls, the Austrian ambiance, some Austrian food (although the food served was truly excellent)---I just wasn't prepared for England in Austria. We had a wonderful time in spite of it, but I wish someone from VIP had informed me about this! The questions below are difficult to answer--yes I would recommend VIP for people who do not want to experience the native culture, and to be surrounded with English speakers, etc., but I do not want to repeat that experience. Thus I really can't answer the questions below. Maybe I would feel differently at a VIP resort in the US or Canada, where English would be the only option.

  • Fabulous Nanny (s)!

We travelled as an extended family with 2 x 2 year olds (who couldn't ski), and 2 x 4 year olds (who attended ski schol). Jess and Emma made our holiday extra special simply by allowing us to know the children were safe, secure and having lots of fun whilst we went skiing. On the first morning they arrived, within 5 minutes the children were mesmerised as Jess made paper flowers with them. From that moment they would rather spend time with 'the big girls' and had to be persuaded to come with Mummy and Daddy!! The nannies did everything from hairstyles in the morning to hot chocolates and carousel rides. They brought toys and craft activities with them and the children got to do water play, glueing and sticking, blowing bubbles, making snow globes etc etc. It was really fantastic. The cooked meals were superb and we definitely wanted to bring them home with us! Thank you so much Jess and Emma you were brilliant and definitely ensured the parents had a relaxing holiday.

We were a bit concerned about the lack of snow reported as it was so early in the season but as it was a special week including Christmas Day, we hoped for a lovely week in the mountains with our friends ..with a bit of skiing. However, SO impressed with the resorts snow management, wonderfully pisted runs, snow in the village and could still ski to the door. We loved our catered chalet experience, the accommodation was new modern and quirky, wonderful to have great ensuites for each double room. All the VIP staff were great, very positive and professional. Jennie and Glenn looked after us in the chalet above and beyond! They were faultless, we enjoyed their help and company (and of course great food!) I wish them a wonderful season and would love to return.

This was our second trip with VIP ski and we had a brilliant time! The staff at the Montjola all went above and beyond the call of duty to look after us. Particular mention must go to Emily our lovely nanny, our children adored her immediately- she was so flexible and made all our lives very easy. Jojo also went above and beyond to make the holiday special for our kids and Rory was a fantastic ski guide. Thanks everyone, we're already looking forward to booking with VIP again.

Lovely experience! Great staff, amazing food, v organised, beautiful spa. Outstanding nanny called Megan, who was fun and had oodles of patience with the children. The hotel could have been a bit more design led however the main thing was that it was comfortable and clean and great for families.

  • Superbly well looked after

A great New Year holiday with fun guests, good weather (on piste is fine everywhere and good in places) but most off all we were so well looked after by VIP staff in resort, especially in the chalet. The chalet itself was very nice, lots of places to gather if you wanted to socialise but space to escape if you want a quiet moment. The food and drink were first rate, which is really important in our view. But best of all the staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble, they were all busy all the time but every request was met with a smile and everything worked like clockwork. Can't praise them highly enough, they are a credit to VIP. One tip - try to avoid the scheduled BA trip from Geneva - we waited 90 minutes to get through security on the way home and if our flight hadn't been delayed we would have missed it. Charter flights out of Geneva seemed fine.

  • Fab holiday

We had a great week in the stunning spacious Lugano Suite with full view of the piste by day, and floodlit piste by evening. The chalet staff were great (especially Frankie) and considering it was their first season and being the first week of the season. The food was very good and we were very well looked after. Where the staff really excelled was the Christmas 'extra's, e.g. dressing up as Santa and helpers and bringing presents for our 3 boys and dusting Santa footprints on the floor for Christmas morning. The resort also had a torch-lit procession with mulled wine, amazing fireworks on Christmas day and reindeer and activities leading up to Christmas day. There was just enough snow and pistes accommodated both beginner children and experienced adults skiiers, several good restaurants. The Chalet is right on the piste which is ideal and good size convenient private ski locker. We also used the nanny service for the first time, which was excellent! Billy our nanny was warm and friendly and the children took to her instantly, she also had toys delivered to the chalet in advance and arrived with a full bag of art materials and made Christmas cards with the kids which they loved. All in all a fantastic holiday.

Ella, Sam & Helen made out holiday. They could not do enough for us. The chalet was immaculate, the food delicious and their attention to detail and fact all three went out of their way to help us - a credit to VIP and their training. Ben and Nat were attentive and sorted our lessons with ease and made every guest feel special. The snow was limited but the resort made the best of the snow it had. Definitely going to travel with VIP again. Thank you!
