There are a variety of restaurants to choose from for lunch or dinner in Val d'Isere, either on the mountain or in the village, whether you're looking for a burger and a coke or tartiflette and champagne.
Many of the lunchtime restaurants also offer dinner in the evening. As your chalet host will have one night off in the week, this provides the perfect opportunity for you to sample the local cuisine.

Perched at the top of the Bellevarde, Maison Louly - named after the founder Guillaume’s children, Louis and Lilly - offers a sophisticated dining experience with breathtaking panoramic views, perfect for both skiers and non-skiers seeking a leisurely lunch in style.
For a lighter or quicker option, Brasserie Le Bellevarde serves gourmet snacks and all-day treats like pancakes and waffles, all enjoyed on a sun-drenched terrace overlooking the stunning Val d'Isère scenery.
Dining at Maison Louly:
Situated at the top of the cable car in the beautiful Fornet ski area, Le Signal is a colourful, convivial and atmospheric mountain restaurant.
Dining at Le Signal:Excellent cuisine, fine wines, a friendly atmosphere and a terrace with exceptional views of the valley. Located in the Fornet area of Val d’Isere.
Dining at L'Edelweiss:
Perched high in the French Alps, this iconic venue blends gourmet dining with live entertainment and a vibrant après-ski atmosphere for a culinary experience like no other. Indulge in exquisite cuisine crafted from locally sourced ingredients, while taking in the breathtaking mountain views. As the day transitions to evening, the energy rises with live music, DJs, and performers, creating an unforgettable après-ski celebration.
Dining at La Fruitière:The terrace outside is one of the best places to grab a drink, a bite to eat or just relax in the sunshine. With bright coloured furniture and a fun atmosphere, you can choose from a variety of food and drink. There is limited seating indoors so this restaurant is best on a good weather day where you can sit in the sun and soak up the mountain atmosphere.
Dining at Bar de l'Ouillette:With an outdoor terrace and warm, cosy indoor area serving food and drink throughout the day, La Datcha is a great place to stop for a bite to eat or a relaxing drink in the sunshine. With traditional Savoyard dishes and French cuisine, you can enjoy a delicious mountain meal.
Dining at La Datcha:Nestled up above La Daille, Le Trifollet restaurant is a popular lunch destination for skiers before a short ski down into La Daille. Soak up the sun on the large terrace or enjoy the cosy and welcoming inside dining area.
Dining at Le Trifollet:
L’Etincelle is relatively new and stands close to the Bellevarde Lodge chalets overlooking the main lift. The décor is sleek and contemporary, and the menu reflects this. Steak is a particular speciality. Pizzas from €25, lunchtime only.
Dining at L'Etincelle:
Located halfway down the Face de Bellevarde run and accessible from the Bellevarde chairlift, this restaurant is perfect for a long lunch on the slopes. Dog lovers will enjoy the attentions of the two resident Labradors who add to the homely atmosphere. Mains from €25.
Dining at Peau de Vache:
Sitting in the brand-new Refuge de Solaise complex which encompasses the highest hotel in Europe, this is a special spot for a mountain lunch. It’s accessible via the Solaise gondola for non-skiers.
Le Petit Refuge offers homemade pizzas and several pasta dishes, served in the cheerful and relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant from 12:00 - 15:00 every day.
With its stunning interiors designed by Hugo Toro, who worked on the Gigi restaurants in Paris and Saint-Tropez, Restaurant Le Refuge offers a selection of Savoyard specialities such as Morbier cheese croziflette, black truffle linguine and a Savoyard burger, to be enjoyed in the cosy restaurant or on the large sunny terrace with spectacular views.
Dining at Le Refuge de Solaise:
This is a cool diner-style cafe in the back of the Roxy/Quiksilver store in the centre of town. You can sit and watch the chefs making lunch and preparing dinner in the open-plan kitchen or enjoy people-watching from the terrace right on the main square. The service is fast and friendly with a great atmosphere. Free WIFI. Mains from €17.
Dining at the Roxy Quiksilver Cafe:One of the older restaurants in the village, with a warm and luxurious atmosphere. They offer a weekly set menu plus specials in the evening.
Dining at La Grande Ourse:Excellent Italian restaurant open for dinner. Typical dishes include Carpaccio de boeuf, fresh lobster tagliatelle, parma ham and mozzarella piccata.
Dining at La Casa Scara:Les Barmes de l’Ours boasts not one but three different restaurants. Michelin-starred La Table de l’Ours is an elegant restaurant inside a beautiful hotel. It is ideal for fine dining and connoisseurs of fine wines. It is also a great place to relax in a fireside armchair for pre-dinner drinks.
La Rôtisserie has turned spit-roasted meat into its signature fare and with gourmet mountain cuisine and desserts. (Pasta from €29, Rotisserie main from €42)
Le Coin Savoyard gives pride of place to local specialities and produce grown and reared in the immediate area, in a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. (Mains from €39)
Dining at Les Barmes De L'Ours:Serving some of the best steaks in town, this restaurant is popular with locals and tourists. The wine list is extensive. Sunny terrace. Mains from €26.
Dining at La Corniche:
A family-friendly choice with a traditional Savoyard menu, pizzas and salads served without pretension by charming and attentive staff. Pizzas from €15, mains from €20.
The clue’s in the name: this is the number one address in town for cheese lovers. There’s also a permanent display of vintage ski equipment for post-dinner perusal. Mains from €25.
La Baraque is a funky bar and restaurant with live music every night except Monday. Start with drinks and tapas before moving to the main restaurant for sophisticated fine dining. DJ from 23:00.
The new kid on the block, POYA is an elegant restaurant offering fine dining and excellent cocktails.
