Not just a side salad: How we make vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian dining shine in the Alps

POSTED:

Ski holidays and great food go hand in hand - long days on the mountain demand hearty breakfasts, indulgent afternoon teas, and dinners worth lingering over. But while traditional Alpine menus have long celebrated cheese, charcuterie and rich meats, things are changing. At VIP SKI, we believe that vegetarians, pescatarians and vegans deserve food every bit as exciting, comforting and beautifully plated as any other guest.

Whether you’re fully plant-based, somewhere in between, or simply looking for lighter fare during your stay, our chalet menus are thoughtfully crafted to suit every palate. We don't just cater for dietary needs, we elevate them.

Created with care, not compromise

Our vegetarian, pescatarian and vegan menus aren’t an afterthought. They're curated with as much attention and creativity as our core offering, and overseen by our brilliant Catering Manager, Laura, who works closely with our resort teams to ensure every dish feels special.

This starts long before you arrive in resort. We encourage all guests with dietary preferences to let us know in advance so our chefs can prepare and source accordingly. From plant-based cream cheese and dairy-free baking ingredients to sustainably sourced fish and vibrant seasonal produce, we’ll do everything we can to make sure your meals are delicious and inclusive.

Tailored to you

If you’re travelling as a couple, with family or with a full chalet of friends, our flexible dining approach ensures you’ll never feel like the odd one out at the dinner table. Vegetarian and vegan options are available every day, and if you’re pescatarian, we can adapt the menu to include a mixture of fish and meat-free meals throughout your stay.

Our chalet hosts and chefs are fully trained to accommodate allergies, intolerances and preferences. Just give us a heads-up when you book, and we’ll do the rest.

Food that brings everyone together

Mealtimes in a VIP SKI chalet are about more than just sustenance – they’re part of the holiday. From canapés by the fire to decadent desserts and late-night hot chocolate, we want everyone at the table to feel indulged.

Whether you’re tucking into a Goan curry with a glass of wine or enjoying a delicious vegan cheesecake at the end of the day, every meal is a moment to savour. Because great food shouldn’t just be for some, it should be for everyone.
