International Women’s Day, celebrated each year on 8 March, is a moment to recognise the achievements of women everywhere, in leadership, in community, in business and beyond.
At VIP SKI, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the women who shape every part of our business, from the teams we build and support, to the resorts we operate, to the guests we welcome each winter. Behind every seamless ski holiday is a network of talented, driven women whose leadership, care and expertise make it all possible.
This year, we’re shining a spotlight on the lady who delivers the goods day in and day out in the Alps, Pip Brockman, and her three amazing colleagues in HR, the very heart and soul of our business, who build and nurture our teams and help Pip bring it all to life.
The powerhouse of our business, Pip, our Operations Director, delivering magic in the mountains all winter long. Pip leads the complex operational framework that keeps VIP SKI running across multiple resorts, from logistics and compliance, to in-resort standards, financial oversight and guest experience. Her leadership and bottomless experience ensures that our operational teams have clarity, structure and support, allowing each resort to perform at its very best.
At the end of the day it’s just about the people. Lucy, Ella and Rachael find our colleagues, carefully selecting candidates for interview, shaping balanced resort teams, and ensuring we have the right personalities and skills in place long before the first guests arrive.
Recruitment in the ski industry is fast-paced and competitive, and assembling cohesive, motivated teams takes instinct, experience and collaboration.
Lucy brings valuable childcare expertise to the team, with a clear mission: To ensure all our little guests are beautifully looked after, and that children and parents alike have the very best holiday possible.
Her understanding of family dynamics and quality childcare standards plays an important role in shaping our resort teams, and was recently recognised with our Junior Magazine award win, something we’re incredibly proud of and a badge that Lucy should wear with pride.
Ella’s journey began more than a decade ago as a chalet host in Val d’Isère, and she has worked her way through the ranks to HR Manager, a progression that shines a light on the opportunities available for those that understand and care passionately about what we do. Cornwall based but regularly travelling to France, she is zealous about staff welfare and ensuring every team member is treated as an individual.
Her connection to life outdoors and in the mountains, whether snowboarding in winter or running along the coast at home, frames her close attachment to the seasonal experience and empathy for everyone of our colleagues.
Rachael, previously of this parish and recently returned to the VIP SKI family, oversees the administrative detail that underpins recruitment and compliance, ensuring everything runs smoothly from interview through to arrival in resort. During the winter season, she provides vital welfare support to both full-time and seasonal staff, helping maintain a confident, fulfilled workforce across the Alps.
Strong HR is so much more than recruitment - it shapes culture. These amazing ladies are the heartbeat of our business. The way our teams are selected, supported and developed directly impacts how our resorts operate day to day. When our colleagues feel valued and empowered, they are able to deliver the magic.
Across our resorts, many senior operational and leadership roles, from Resort Managers to senior support positions are also held by talented women who lead teams on the ground every day. Clare manages Geneva airport with aplomb, Laura delivers magic on the plate and Kristin steps in when stuff goes wrong - they balance commercial targets with guest satisfaction and staff wellbeing, often making fast decisions in dynamic mountain environments.
There is also a wider team behind the brand, dominated by powerful women
International Women’s Day is a celebration but it’s also a reminder. The ski industry continues to evolve, and women are leading across every discipline: recruitment, childcare, operations, finance, sales, marketing and digital strategy. At VIP SKI, progression is driven by ability, ambition and attitude and many of our strongest leaders began their journeys as chalet hosts or seasonal team members.
From building exceptional teams and supporting staff welfare to leading resort operations, driving growth and delivering five-star hospitality in chalet kitchens, the women of VIP SKI are the heartbeat of our business.
Ladies, we salute you. Happy International Women’s Day 2026.
