  • Chalet La Maison- fantastic!

    Wonderful relaxing week. Food, service and convenience of chalet to slopes was amazing. Our host Andy looked after us with ease and efficiency and nothing was too much trouble for the VIP Team. Any little problems were sorted out quickly with no fuss. Their customer service is second to none. Will never disappoint their guests.Thank you again for another great week here in Alpe D'Huez. Unfortunately our British Airways flight to the resort was far from satisfactory. We were delayed taking off, sat on the Tarmac for at least 60 mins, without the air conditioning on. It was explained that there was ice on the wings and it obviously had to be removed prior to our flight we understood this explanation, however sat in an extremely hot and stuffy plane is not the best environment to start your holiday. We all eagerly awaited the refreshment service, as by this time we were very dehydrated. However this didn't happen as we landed before the cabin crew were unable to process the drinks service in a timely manner. I believe they were trying to make a statement , as they now have to take money for refreshments, so they were unable to satisfy their customers needs, with too few staff numbers allocated to the aircraft. A bottle of water or a jug a plastic cup would have been better than nothing. Despite the flight , VIP are still the number 1 Company for us with over 20 Years of skiing experience between us all.     Our group of 5 enjoyed a lovely week in Chalet Club Chateau, we had rooms 5 and 7 which were very spacious and had plenty of storage. Our chalet hosts Chloe and Jamie were great and Helen our chef made fantastic meals and afternoon tea.

    We were a party of 8, and all of us had a wonderful time in Kaila. Our hosts, Rob and Sam couldn't have been more lovely - everything we ate was beautifully cooked, our rooms were always spotless, and they were only to happy to help with advise on everything, from apres bars to to the best slopes. The chalet itself was ideal for 4 couples, but could easily have accommodated families too. Some hooks on the back of bedroom doors would have been useful for salopettes and jackets, but bearing in mind this is the only thing we could think of to improve our stay, I think it says a lot about how perfect the chalet was!

    Overall, we have had a very enjoyable holiday. Our chalets hosts were helpful and friendly. Some aspects could be improved. Food quality overall is good but some meals disappointing, roast beef on last night for instance, very lacking in quantity and no veg served, you should expect at least pub standard. Cleanliness of chalet could also be better, I forgot to bring slippers and socks were covered in dust and dirt just walking around from bedroom to lounge. We stayed with VIP last year in Verbier and before in Morzine, both previous experiences were of higher standard than here. Location is excellent and really enjoyed the ski in/out, plus the ski area is amazing. One other point is related to check in at Gatwick on outbound, Aer lingis check in didn't open until an hour after most people had started queueing. We arrived at Gatwick at 825 to check in and waiting an hour to finally get checked in. I spoke to someone from VIP there, and said "this isn't very VIP" to which he responded "it's not our fault". This isn't the response I would expect, Aer Lingus are providing the service to your passengers, and despite us asking the Aer Lingus guest where and when to check in, they made no attempt to staff the desks promptly.

    Lovely chalet, a bit noisy because of the design , but didn't spoil its specialness. Tom and Emma lovely hosts , very friendly and great cooks. Chalet in good location, would definitely come again. Special mention to the drivers especially Andy , very helpful and friendly and made life easy. Admin before we came could have been better, no form to fill in for skis , ski passes , ski school or dietary requirements.

    A wonderful holiday. Large roomy bedroom, bathroom and living area. Amelia our hostess was a delight, helpful, a great cook, and very pleasant unobtrusive company. We had a fabulous week and would definitely look at using VIP again.
