Taking a ski break with my sister annually has become a tradition - having stayed in St Anton in the past and used the mountains in Lech for better conditions it was more logical to stay locally instead of the journey across each day. From the start the website and booking process is nice and simple with no hidden costs found by many other companies. Scheduled BA flights made the airport experience a dream, lucky enough to also get extra leg room on the plane and we departed early a true VIP start to the holiday. Being welcomed at the airport and guided to the transfer bus the VIP experience continued. All bags were tagged so they could be delivered safely to our room. During the transfer, ski hire, lift passes and evening meal selection were sorted efficiently by Ross and Richard, a lovely welcome to the holiday and had an answer to everyone's questions. Having chocolate and a bottle of water on each seat on the bus was a nice touch. We were welcomed by Siobhan and Sion (Manager and assistant manager) both friendly and exceptionally enthusiastic, we were then welcomed for afternoon tea while bags were being placed at rooms. A quick welcome chat perfect in length for introductions and general info so not to be tiresome. The room was wonderfully made up, very clean, a plethora of toiletries and plenty of storage for clothes which is always a bonus. Comfy robes and importantly lovely soft towels for post ski relaxation. We were given plenty of time to relax before the evening champagne reception, where surprisingly there wasn't any selling of excursions or products etc and the supply of champagne felt endless all followed by a lovely evening meal. The hotel uses the newest Strolz Ski hire centre, with obvious discounted rates and staff from the hotel are there to ensure the fitting process was done as painlessly as possible. All the meals throughout our stay have been amazing. The standard of food rivals many high end restaurants. The Roasted chicken supreme with sage jus was outstanding and not to be missed if it's on a menu option. A cooked breakfast and continental breakfast were more than sufficient for energy for the slopes and the coffee was amazing. Service during the week was flawless and the staff are more than friendly, nothing being too much trouble and all exceptionally knowledgable, Poppy, Deena ('Bolton'), Becky and Portia, Hannah were all lovely, great sense of humour and more than accommodating and are all more than happy to hold conversation, special thanks to Simon for his patience going through the wide selection of brandy / whisky available for a nightcap. The experience has been amazing, so much so we are thinking of returning in a couple of months time bringing along both our respective partners.
