Testimonials

Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

This was our second time at Altitude Lodge and again it surpassed all previous expectations. A wonderful week, blue skies, great food, lovely staff who couldn't be more helpful. Brilliant location, so easy for ski lessons, collection of skis and hot chocolate breaks! We are had a fabulous time and the boys enjoyed playing with the other children in the chalet. We hope to be back.

This was our third time at the Montjola, and we had a really lovely time again. The staff are all fabulous, very friendly and helpful at all times, and obviously work incredibly hard. Special thanks to Gem (head of housekeeping), Annie's, Jo Jo, Jemima, Charlotte, Harriet, Jenny and Georgia, along with Rachel and Adam. Also thanks to the guys who drove us to and from the slopes every day, Toby, Roddy, Jack and Will. The food was brilliant (thanks to all the chefs and kitchen staff), we enjoyed every single course, and breakfast was also excellent. Tea all afternoon was really appreciated when we came in early! Being able to sit on our balcony in the sun with a cuppa (in a mug) was great.

Excellent chalet with first class host (Mo Jones). Snow conditions deteriorated towards end of week. Can you do anything about the continually misleading snow reports from both the resort and other independent sources which were blatant lies!!!

It was all great and perfect for us - but parts of the apartment were very shabby - particularly the kitchen - doors falling off and grubby - light bulbs not working - curtains falling off hooks etc . Did not matter for our group this time but we would not bring adult friends or family!

Overall and most importantly, we had a great holiday. Lech is a classy resort and the new lifts make it easier to get across to St Anton so the ski area is of a very acceptable size with good variety. We probably skied most in Zurs as with the warm weather and sunshine, the snow was best here. The hotel was conveniently located just a short walk from the ski shop and lifts and as we were able to leave our skis and boots in the shop, we did not need to use the transport provided. The ski shop Strolz was amazing and the service second to none. Our skis were of excellent quality. The room in the hotel was fine, very clean and the beds comfortable. Catering also good. Our only issue was that we felt the service lacked any personal touch. Maybe everyone was feeling jaded towards the end of the season, but when we returned after a day skiing the staff barely acknowledged us, not once asked us if we had good day and never offered any advice regarding where to ski/eat etc. We would have liked to linger over dinner, but meals were always very rushed, clearing plates before the last mouthful of food was finished, no break between courses and the staff vanished as soon as the last course was served. This would not preclude for us another holiday with VIP ski, but to justify using the term VIP, a more engaged and sociable staff is required to improve the overall experience.

We had a great week at the Hotel Montjola in St Anton. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the whole week. The shuttle service was great to and from the centre of St Anton. We had Emily as our nanny for the whole week and she was fantastic! Our daughter enjoyed spending time with Emily for the whole week and didn't want to leave. We also met Jo the other nanny, who was looking after another child in our hotel and again she was great! We booked VIP for the childcare as well as the service and hotel they offered and both definitely hit our expectations, if not exceeded them. We would definitely book via VIP again, but would like to book with a group of friends and have our own chalet.

  • Tea in bed and the smell of grilled bacon wafts upstairs - not a bad start to the day!

Thank you Ellie and Andy for making our ski break such a relaxing, enjoyable and delightful trip. Substantial snowfall was arranged by VIP for our arrival giving us wonderful conditions and making factor 50 essential - all week. Spring skiing doesn't get much better. The food was lovely. Tasty, substantial or light, varied (as you wish) and perfectly presented. Ellie and Andy obviously take real pride in making sure everything is just as you would wish - and like many guests have previously commented, nothing was a problem for them. Arrangements were effortless, the selection of wines very appealing (had a few!) and Andy and Ellie were an essential and integral part of the holiday. They have a lovely sense of humor. They are perfect hosts! Like others have previously commented the paths to the piste and Health Suite were ludicrously treacherous and we couldn't understand why the location managers hadn't made arrangements to have the ice cleared. A number of chalets used these paths. It's only a matter of time before a significant injury results!. 5 Stars for Ellie and Andy, 0 stars for the paths! We had an email from resort colleagues before our break asking about 'any special occasions / arrangements needed'. Nice touch. As we were arriving on Mother's Day we thought we could arrange flowers for Mum from Tilly, we sent request in reply but unfortunately nothing resulted and no reply. The chalet enjoys a beautiful mountain view from all rooms to the front and the terrace but....Club Med at the rear. (Not so beautiful) and a little noisy on their last night (Friday) The Health Suite is a fantastic facility, beautiful view from the (now) perfectly warm pool and relaxing area. Great Steam Room and Saunas too! Overall - This is a great value holiday in a lovely chalet with wonderful hosts and an impressive health suite.
