Testimonials

Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

Fabulous accommodation, wonderful food, lovely host who knew exactly how to communicate with children. Great proximity to slopes. Just a shame shops and restaurants closed before the last day.

Our first trip with VIP and what an amazing time we had. From the welcome at the airport, coach transfer, bags directly to the room everything was efficient. Staff go over and above to help guests and are flexible to everyone's needs. This was especially seen at dinner time where customer needs were fully taken into account. The hotel is fully equipped with good wifi throughout and all needs met. Rachel and Adam do a fantastic job leading the team and with Adams guidance and recommendations we have already booked to visit Lech next year. Special mention must go to Jo who acted as our private nanny for the week looking after our 2 year old and taking and collecting our 5 year old from ski school. They both had an amazing week of adventures and visits to the special play cafe for hot chocolates! The other nannies, heather and Emily did an amazing job looking after all the kids especially at dinner time. We have certainly seen where the extra cost comes into the equation compared to other ski holiday companies and it is worth every penny. Thank you all at Hotel Montjola.

Club Aspen, excellent central location, a short walk to the piste with the offer of transportation of skis at 8:45am. Sadly given the weather/icy piste conditions we didn't want to venture out that early! Transfer: LHR not great for us. Would like to see LGW or CITY offered as alternatives. Coach: basic, no wifi available or toilet working on board.. Small bottle of water and a small chocolate. Staff pick up bags and skis with a short walk to accom. On the homeward trip one guest had specifically requested the second transfer time as his flight was very late in the day only to be told at breakfast that in fact he was on the first transfer (despite their being plenty of space on the second transfer which we were on) that he had all but 5 minutes to be ready. Particularly poor given that the guest had arrived back to the chalet after midnight as his son had been admitted to hospital. In fact a 2.5 hour wait between leaving the room/chalet and the coach transfer wasn't great and should be addressed. Friendly and warm welcome from all staff. Rooms were offered in different areas of the chalet, we agreed with other families in the chalet that it would have been good to try and arrange this so that families were closer together. Room 8 had precious little hanging or drawer storage. Shower curtain not particularly pleasant in room 1, a screen would be a good addition. Communal areas were minimalistic but comfortable. Separate areas for little ones to enjoy early dinner. Matt, Jack, Liv, Neil and Liam were all fantastic. Sam and Natasha on concierge did their best to book restaurants, but this did prove challenging at times as VIP don't seem to have any priority when calling the more popular venues. Given we were nearly at the end of the season, all staff were still chirpy and enthusiastic, table laid beautifully with candles and music. Neil and Liam did a great job providing consistently tasty, hot, good sized portions of meals with a varied menu. Perhaps the op name of VIP is a little optimistic but overall, a great trip in a lovely chalet with a fun mix of guests.

  • Excellent family hotel

We found the whole VIP experience excellent. All the staff were happy ,smiling and always helpful. The food was extremely good, even if a little over generous at times. My only slight gripe was that stairs and landings were not cleaned regularly. Our party age range was from 4 to 78 and it worked for us all! We would certainly recommend VIP.

  • Very enjoyable week in sunny St Anton!

Well done to all the staff at the Hotel Montjola! The hotel itself is a bit tired and we understand it is a due a revamp in the next year or so. However this was made up for by the excellent food and really friendly and helpful staff. Everyone we dealt with from drivers, waitresses and front desk staff were always happy to help with any request there were no signs of "end of season fatigue" from the staff. Like every ski hotel in the world they need to turn the hearting down though !

My two sons went together ( age 17 & 20 ). A good experience all round. They had their independence but also everything was laid on for them. One private lesson with Robert was very useful as one had only skied once before. There are not many beginner slopes so it was quite challenging for him but they feel their skiing improved a lot there. They did not use the ski guide, preferring to explore together. They went 40 miles one day. Did lose each other once but got the bus back then as tired. Lots of linking public transport. They also appreciated the hotel shuttle service back from slopes to hotel & the ski locker near piste. They loved the quality & variety of the food at hotel & in resort. They loved St Anton, said it was the best resort so far, lots there. Weather in early April was hot; they didn't need thermals. They forgot sun protection first day & got a bit red; so that is a must. Logistics of journey were - easy, flight, transfer all went well. They liked flying home as they had got to know the other VIP guests by then who were also on the flight. Room was good. They used the steam room & sauna; hot tub had lots of kids in it but they didn't mind that. They loved it all but most of all loved the skiing & the friendliness of everyone, staff & guests. St Anton is very big with lots of slopes.
