Testimonials

Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

  • Take me back !

Had such an amazing time! All the VIP staff were so friendly and sorted us right out when we couldn’t get to the resort for two days. Phil and Lawrence our chalet hosts were the best! So friendly, so polite and just great fun. They looked after us perfectly and cooked amazing food every day - the soup cupcakes... honestly, SO impressed. The chalet itself had everything we needed - really clean and spacious and so close to the ski lifts. Genuinely had the best time... sad to leave :) x

  • Aspen Lodge stay

We had a great week, with a terrific chalet host, lovely food, charming fellow guests and the best snow that I've seen in 10 years. The only thing that holds me back from giving a 5 star review, was the defunct jacuzzi in our bath, that made it mildly uncomfortable to have bath. Better to have a bath without the jacuzzi function - after all, who am I? Hugh Heffner? As for the public jacuzzis on the ground floor, they seemed to be constantly occupied by a bunch of hairy bearded old men, eating nuts and crisps whilst drinking beer. It looked uncomfortably like a rather scuzzy dogging spot. A rather odd aberration, I'd say.

Very comfortable, modern and clean chalet. Excellent food and service provided by Elly and Max. The poached eggs every morning were superb! My only small criticism is my wife is a non drinker ( along with 2 other guests staying at the time), perhaps soft drinks could be provided as an alternative to wine during dinner. Water, fruit and snack provided on the coach was a nice touch.

Just had a lovely week in Val. Our chalet host Harriet took care of our culinary needs admirably. I found the Aer Lingus flight to and from Geneva among the best I have experienced. With good snow and sunshine on all but one day I would find it hard not to give the holiday five stars. Thank you VIP and see you next year.

  • Disappointing

    G Nott 06 Feb 2018

the Club was very comfortable but the service and food did not meet expectations . the mini bus used to take us up the mountain was very uncomfortable and probably unsafe for anyone tall as they could not sit facing forward with a seat belt on as the space was so restricted . The chalet staff were not properly informed about the resort e g they had no knowledge of the daily Val d'Isere radio piste condition/ weather reports , Nor was the concierge aware of the Classical Music festival taking place during our visit . The staff were very numerous but the attention to detail was poor. e g our bin was only emptied on a couple of occasions and I had to ask for it to be emptied; likewise the replacement of loo rolls. The food was good on some occasions but not consistently so. Plates were never hot which combined with very slow service made for a less than satisfactory result . No breakfast on the last morning was unacceptable ( we left at 7.30 am not crack of dawn) ; A bacon roll to carry on to the coach made with cold bacon cooked the night before does not do your company justice . The staff did not look as though they were enjoying themselves which was a shame.

I'm sorry to hear that the food and service during your stay did not meet expectations. Our catering manager will be providing further support to our chefs in order to avoid such issues in the future. I can only apologise for having let you down on this occasion and I do hope you will consider skiing with us again in the future. Paul Geddes - Area Operations Manager.

Fantastic stay at Theodul, staff were delightful, upbeat and efficient. Food was delicious. Rooms were comfortable and ours had beautiful view. Mollie, Anna, Millie & Gar were the team who cleaned our room and served us, all were wonderful. Great location. Not pretentious and other guests were very pleasant. A wonderful week.

  • VIP all the way

    Michael Wood 05 Feb 2018

We hadn't heard of VIP ski before but they offered the flexibility of flights/transfers or self travel which suited our party, two of which live in mainland Europe. From first contact with the sales team, through check-in at Gatwick to our departure from the hotel we were impressed by the friendliness of all the staff and were looked after very well. Catering in Hotel Theodul was a little erratic at times but considering the average age of staff this was unsurprising and it was always tolerable. The free local minibus service was a nice treat after a hard day on the slopes and the beautiful spa area was a great place to relax. We had expected to have to resort to buying wine from the menu but the choice and quality of the wine that was included with dinner was outstanding.

  • Great time had by all

    Leigh Kennaugh 05 Feb 2018

Overall our family had a great week’s holiday. Altitude Lodge is a lovely chalet with great staff and incredibly well situated. Chalet Managers Kris and Jamie, along with chef Jamie were incredibly friendly and approachable and did all they could to make sure our trip was as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Some of our party suffered serious injuries but the staff went out of their way to help in any way that they could. The only slightly negative elements were with the support staff; the bedroom was not always tidied as well as we would have expected and the children’s toys not always staged in to funny positions as we were led to expect they would be and the children excitedly ran up the stairs to see each evening; service was sometimes poor at breakfast with orders taken incorrectly or not received at all; and the occasional sigh and being given the impression that we were being a burden when making a small request. On a final note we also used the nanny services with our children being looked after by Billie. Our children loved spending time with her, doing the variety of things that she organised. But she also knew when it was best that they had some “down time” and organised some quieter, more restful activities for them to do. Billie fitted-in around us and helped to ensure that we all enjoyed our holiday as much as we could. Overall we were very happy with our stay and hope to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Altitude Lodge to others.
