Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

This is our third time with VIP. Our previous two trips have been at end of season when the food service has been smooth comparatively to this trip. Delayed breakfasts, hastily changed menus and missed table dressing have impacted on meal times. Friendly hosting has offset these and the overall quality of the rest of vipski's service is once again high.

  • Chalet Poudreuse

Chalet experience overwhelmingly positive. The chalet is the envy of the surrounding holidaymakers, who continue to ask whether it is available for rent. The problems with appliances noted by earlier reviewer Simon were addressed by the time we arrived. The house is very conducive to conversation and company. We were all woken up at our proffered time with a warm drink prepared by Jake and Susan, the chalet hosts, who are hospitable to the extent that they go out of their way to help the guests, addressing teething problems within the day. Breakfast was prepared as early as we preferred, and this, as well as a three course dinner, was superb. Individual preferences, including vegetarianism, were accommodated with no fuss. We were, in short, spoilt.

  • Wonderful New Year in Verbier

    Simon Perry 04 Jan 2014

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Laura has looked after us splendidly all week. Chalet Tortin is a fantastic base in Verbier and surpassed the expectations we had based on the photos on your website. It is large and spacious (we are a family of 5) with plenty of storage and a comfortable sitting room with WiFi, TV, DVD (but not Blue-Ray!) and a plug for your iPod. It is a very short walk to the Medran lift, made easier by the fact that you can leave boots, skis and sticks at the lift station (the cost was included in our holiday). Damp ski gear dried overnight in the large hall cupboard and on heated towel rails. The chalet has two large balconies with fantastic views across Verbier and down the valley. This was especially valuable at New Year when we were able to enjoy the multiple firework displays put on by the residents - one was right outside our window. Laura hosted wonderfully. She was constantly cheerful and smiling, laughed at all our jokes and prepared beautiful meals. She also managed to keep the chalet beautifully tidy despite the best efforts of our three teenaged children. Rob was available to show us around the slopes on our first day (and would have done more had we wanted it) and Will was available every evening to sort out any other issues we had (but we couldn't come up with anything to test him). A great week.

Problems with this holiday: The food was too good so I ate way too much. The chalet was far too close to the Medran lift, the walk wasn't nearly tiring enough for last thing in the day after skiing all day. The ski lockers at the Medran were way too easy to use, there was no challenge at all. There were enough plugs to charge all my electronics in the chalet so I didn't have to prioritise. Our chalet was far too comfortable, far to clean, far too nice. I didn't bring nearly enough clothes to fill all the storage spaces provided. Our chalet host Laura was way too nice, as were Rob and Will, they made everything far too stress free. The view was so beautiful over Verbier and the mountains that it distracted me from watching the flat screen TV and playing on the wifi. No. One ski hire made renting skis an an amusing and fun experience rather than a boring one (they even matched my skis to my ski suit). We skied until our legs ached and knees hurt. There was lots of off piste to do, even for a beginner which meant I was sometimes too tired to enjoy the delicious afternoon tea. There was a really giant light in our chalet, it was just abnormal. The beds and bedrooms were so big and comfortable that even though I was sharing with my little sister I only had to kick her out of my side of the bed twice. The photos were misleading, the chalet was much bigger and more comfortable. Laura was just too cheerful, it was practically a superpower, she put up with our noise, laughed at our jokes and was constantly smiling. No matter how hard we tried we couldn't keep the chalet messy. From a sometimes moody and very critical 16 year old....

Chalet hosts were superb. Couldn't have looked after us better. Resort manager visited mid week - perhaps would have been nice to meet earlier in our stay but resolved all the issues that had cropped up. Chalet manager not so on the ball and required more prompts to respond to our requests, mis information re lift passes, misinformation re New Years Eve activities, our request for a ski guide not followed up and the restaurant recommended for our night out was as expected. During a busy week in val d'isere it would have been good to know what was happening when. We ended up finding out most information ourselves. A chalet folder including piste maps, restaurant menus in town and on the piste and diary of events would be most helpful.

A homely warm chalet, in a great location. Good living room & appreciated av. Beds were poor & in need of replacing, with better mattresses & maybe x2 doubles. Chalet hosts were excellent & consistently cooked well. could have seen more of chalet manager with info on resort/skiing etc. concierge helpful with bookings.

Excellent resort with a wide variety of skiing. Chalet brand new and ideally placed. Chalet hosts exceptional and a credit to your company. Outside of skiing they made our holiday. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The only issue with the chalet is the lower floor does not have any circulating air which made it uncomfortable in the room for us. I cannot imagine how uncomfortable it is for the hosts who live on that floor. If not remedied it needs to be made clear in the ad for the chalet. You need to sort this out. Sleep was quite difficult. With hosts like we had we will use VIP again

We apologise for the ventilation issues on the lower ground floor. In our haste to have the chalet ready on time the ventilation holes in the light wells were not installed properly and this work was completed yesterday. There is now plenty of ventilation to the lower level and we are able to confirm that the windows do open fully. We will also ensure that the snow is cleared regularly around the light wells to ensure adequate natural light in Rooms 1 & 2.  We are sorry for these early teething issues on the new chalet which should not have occurred.

Chalets was good as it was new, but a couple of issues 1) The downstairs rooms were very stuffy as they had no ventilation. Given there is a sauna and a boiler room down there I can't see how anybody could possibly think this wouldn't be a problem 2) Internet didn't work properly for a few days. We had a person who wasn't skiing so this was very important, plus of course everybody has IPhones, IPads and PCs and expect to be able to use them when they come back from skiing 3) Lots of DVDs that we wanted to watch, but the DVD player didn't work.  Apart from the above, we really did enjoy our holiday and would definitely book with VIP ski again.  The chalets hosts (Jake and Susan) were absolutely superb!! Nothing was too much trouble, the food was great and they tried to fulfil any request we had. I would try and keep them if I was you! Take the stupid check words from the bottom of this page!!! I can't send the form.
