Testimonials

Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

Could not fault one thing. Tom our Chalet host was brilliant , fantastic evening meals , was very helpful and makes a nice afternoon cake. Just what you need after a hard days skiing. The accommodation is nice and ample room for 6 adults. There is a nice bar downstairs for a quick glass of something before dinner. The VIP experience was first rate , would definitely highly recommend.

  • First family ski holiday

This was our first ski holiday as a family and are so glad that it was at Altitude Lodge. Going on holiday with a 3 year old and 18 month old has it challenges but it was just like home from home for us. Pros -Great kids and adult menu -Nannies were like members of your own family -Free wine - and really nice too -Delicious afternoon tea cakes -Hot tub on our balcony with robes and slippers to wrap up in -Ski in and out chalet and so close to all the main lifts -Ski hire shop only a few doors down -Mini bus shuttle available for trips in and out of town -Ski boot room - so nice to have warm boots -Very friendly staff who would always stop and chat -Nice bathroom toiletries -Wake up drink brought to your room -Staff were excellent with our children Cons -Kids tea too late would have preferred 5pm -Champagne and canapés would be lovely every night as it gathers the guests together in the bar pre dinner -No excuse to run out of croissants and lemons for days in a row -Bedroom needs more coat hooks as the x4 person ski clothes ended up on floor everyday -More structure in the playroom so parent and children can see what is planned for the day -Playroom very dark and hot - needs more lighting and air -As the chalet restaurant is open to the public it made afternoon tea not as relaxing as there is not enough room for all the guests to be there at the same time -A store room to put empty suitcases in would be helpful After 7 years of not being on the slopes we are so happy to have ski holidays back on our annual radar ! Thank you to everyone xx

Meeting at the Airport on arrival at Geneva and ongoing travel arrangement as well as the return journey was very well organised making the whole travel experience stress free. It was also very nice to met by Kim our chalet host and resort manager Alice at the bus station. We were walked through the village, safe in the knowledge that our bags were being dealt with. Kim our chalet host was exceptional. The catering was first class! Nothing was ever too much trouble, even with the added complication of two coeliacs in our party! The chalet was clean and comfortable whilst still feeling contemporary. We also met other members of the VIP team in the resort, who were all efficient and friendly and willing to help with any queries or problems and had great resort knowledge. Thank you VIP from a happy but slightly heavier client!

  • Fantastic family resort + excellent VIP experience

    Pei-Chi Wong 28 Jan 2016

We traveled in a group of two families and both of us had such a wonderful time with VIP in La Plagne. La Plagne isn't the prettiest of ski resorts but as it is purpose built, everything is well thought out and convenient and geared towards servicing families with young children. The runs are a bit more relaxing but still interesting enough so that's good for intermediate/beginner skiers. Como Suite is comfortable enough (the living area is slightly smaller than we would've liked) and nicely decorated. The best of the accommodation is its central location - skiing in and out is such a plus! Our chalet host Jo was very sweet and wonderful at looking after all of us. Our nanny Liv was superb with our two girls and kept us informed throughout the day via texts whilst we were out on the slopes, which was such a reassurance for parents! We could see the girls enjoyed their time so much with Liv too going out for walks in the snow, doing all sorts of arts and crafts activities and etc. On the coach transfer Ali was very good at looking after us - a few 'casualties' from the winding mountain roads. We would thoroughly recommend the resort and SKI VIP.

  • Had a great trip

    Guy Blackburn 27 Jan 2016

Overall we really enjoyed our trip to St Anton with VIP Ski. Your staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the hotel manager and the guys that ran the ski bus. Other things that made a very positive difference: 241 ski passes, sociable time of flights, having bags delivered / collected from rooms, ski bus shuttle service, sorting ski hire on the night we arrived, good food, a really comfortable bed and loads of very hot water. Things that were very annoying: 1) uncomfortable chairs / stools in lounge area, 2) an inappropriate corporate group taking over the hotel and 3) Germania airways. If you managed to fix these 3x annoyances then I would rate you 5 star. Annoyances in more detail: 1) the lounge area in the chalet is pleasant for drinks etc but most of the bench seats and stools are really uncomfortable - a handful of luck people get to sit on 3x comfy sofas but everyone else is stuck balancing on little foot stool. It would be worth getting some shall / comfy arm chairs so guests can sit comfortably in groups. 2) the last few days of our holiday were significantly marred by a large (c. 40 people) corporate group from Citibank that basically took over the chalet, got drunk every night and behaved poorly. the staff did their best to control the group but there were still drinking games, drunken swearing and all round sleazy behaviour that made the chalet an unpleasant place for the few other guests. If I was on a lads trip ski trip to some cheap chalet then I'd expect this but they were really unsuitable, disruptive guests in what is meant to be an upmarket, cozy ski chalet. I think you should either insist that corporates book the entire chalet or think very carefully about whether this type of booking fits with your other guests and brand - it's simply not fair to mix couples and kids with drunk bankers shouting 'mate, are you fucking drunk yet?' across tables at dinner. 3) A 20kg hold bag allowance is really too tight for a ski holiday when this limit has to include ski boots. No problem with Germania on the way out but going back the Germania staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, pedantic and rude. They randomly picked on passengers and made an example of pedantically weighing hold luggage and saying that we had excess baggage that must be paid for (at E10 per kg). This was a joke since they didn't object to people moving things between different hold bags or out of hold bags into hand luggage to get under the 20kg limit - e.g. they said I had to pay E30 as I was 2.5 kg over the 20kg limit but were happy when I moved a pair a trainers and bunch of clothes into my hand luggage instead... An unnecessary, unpleasant and pedantic waste of time since everyone's stuff and the plane still all weighted the same, it just had to be spread across more bags and doing this meant that it took nearly 2 hours to check in as people had to open and repack bags in the airport. Not VIP's fault, but very annoying a crap ending to the holiday. Either have a word with Germaia and ask them to be more pragmatic about things or warn guests that the airline sometimes strictly enforces the 20kg weight limit?
