We stayed in Bellevarde 7 in Val d'Isere for a week in Feb 2025, and it was a fantastic experience.
The chalet itself is very large, with 8 sizeable main bedrooms (spread across 3 floors) and a huge living room on the top floor. It's well-furnished with plenty of comfy seating and ample dining space on the top, and the bedrooms are well-appointed. The chalet is built into the hillside, with the top floor at the same level as the access road and the bedrooms all below that and facing out with views across a little river and to the mountains on the other side. The pool, sauna and hamam are terrific and very relaxing after a day of skiing, although they're not enormous (probably 7 at a time comfortably in the sauna and 5 in the steam room). Finally there's a ski room with boot warmers just inside the entrance; it's probably not big enough and doesn't have enough seats, but that's a pretty minor downside in what is a fantastic chalet.
The chalet isn't quite ski-in / ski-out but it's close. In the morning there's a 25m walk (between a couple of a chalets and up the side of a slope) to get to a very gentle descent to the main village, and in the afternoon you have to ski down the Santons piste (which can be a bit of a rat run) to get to the place where you put your skis on in the morning ... and then walk 25m down to the chalet. It can be a little bit of work if lugging skis for kids, but it's not bad. VIP Ski also offer an excellent pick-up and drop-off service all around the area.
The hosts themselves were truly excellent: friendly, engaging and charming without being over-the-top. Archie, Hetty and Rosa really made the holiday much more personal and enjoyable. They were ready to offer tips on where would be best to ski that day, provide recommendations for nightlife or restaurants, share stories and chat ... or just let you be, if that's what you prefer. They worked really hard to make sure everything went smoothly, from transfers and equipment hire to morning cups of tea and menu choices, all while keeping the chalet in excellent condition. They were truly a credit to VIP Ski.
One of the highlights of the chalet was the catering: chef Dylan was amazing, and very ably supported by sous-chefs Ellie (whose cakes were unbelievably good) and Liam. All three were friendly and personable; very responsive to menu requests, suggestions, even last-minute changes, and flexible with their timing; all while cooking superbly. They really made the holiday.
The rest of the experience went well, VIP Ski arranged the transfers and the ski hire (all of which worked well), and they seem to have a large contingent with a good setup in Val d'Isere - ready to take care of anything.
Overall the experience was fantastic. It wasn't cheap, but VIP Ski provided an outstanding holiday - one I would recommend to anyone and would like to do again.
