Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

It was a perfect holiday because everybody was very helpful and kind and the whole house and experience was wonderful as with the whole chalet, we will for sure recommend this experience to friends and family and hopefully we will be back soon.

  • Excellent

We had a great stay, lovely chalet and very good service! Max and Elliot are brilliant cooks, are very friendly and make sure that everything is taking care of (together with Freddie). We liked their relaxed style, available if we need them but modest if required. Room for improvement (and nothing to do with the chalet team): - we understand there's not much time to clean, you could consider an extra round of cleaning once a week; - we would have expected all drinks to be included; - we would recommend an extra change of towels; But in sum: great!

A rather late review. Another week in the very comfortable Montjola. The hotel is a little tired, but the team are as eager as ever. Issues with the local taxi companies mean they could only run one bus to the pick up point. So this meant timing was critical if you wanted to avoid a walk from the more distant pick up point. Hopefully that was fixed. Food very good. Rooms could have been a little cleaner- just basing that on the previous year (but not a big deal). Good to mention memorable staff members - Toby, the three duty managers, Nanny Jo (who was helpful with supplying ice and sympathy after a slip on the path), drivers and the restaurant staff. Not sure if we'll have any of the great UK-based staff back for next season due to the lunacy of Brexit, but let's hope so.

  • WORTH CONSIDERING IF YOU’RE SKIING AS A FAMILY

    Jenny Burn 01 Mar 2018

Let’s just get the only negative out of the way first. On booking, we were told our small family group (granny, parents and one 3-year old) had rooms adjoining. This was an imperative for us - we wanted to be flexible with the sleeping arrangements of our little one. Unfortunately, on arrival we discovered that although our rooms were numbered next to each other, in reality they were two staircases away. This was disappointing. Murray, the hotel manager, did ask a couple of other guests I’d they would swap, but they didn’t want to. Fair enough, we probably wouldn’t have wanted to swap either seeing as we later discovered our two allocated rooms were half the size of theirs! Now the positives. Murray arranged an additional small bed in one of the rooms for the little one and, although rather a squeeze, we put that disappointment behind us and looked forward to skiing in St.Anton. I’m the Granny, and have enjoyed skiing since the early 1980’s. I’ve experienced all sorts of skiing accommodation throughout Europe, the States, and even down-under! Hotel Montjola’s customer care is up there with the USA - the staff went that extra mile to ensure you get the most out of your stay. The minibus service is a particularly welcome facility as although the hotel is advertised as a 10min walk from town centre, it's a long steep climb back up at the end of the day, and that’s something nobody in skiboots should attempt. The most pleasantly surprising thing for us was the standard of food in the restaurant - we certainly weren’t expecting such high quality meals. What a chef! Where was the “chalet girl” who presents a spag-bol for dinner and a rather flat altitude cake! Because of the minibus service offered by the hotel, our group agreed it was a holiday good for children and although we didn’t make use of the nanny-service available, the staff seem to enjoy having children around and cater for their needs. We would certainly considered returning to Hotel Montjola or trying another VIP ski holiday.

  • Hotel Montjola

I’ve been skiing with VIP about five times and each time has been faultless - until this year. We felt that the hotel manager Murray was dismissive and didn’t have the interests of customers at the heart of what he did, which was a shame as all other members of staff were excellent and how we remember the VIP team. We loved our ski guides - particularly Matt, thank you. We’ve heard that hotel Montjola is going to be refurbished, we hope this includes some sound insulation as the hotel was quite noisy when trying to sleep! Other than that a fantastic week - excellent food, wine selection - thank you to everyone who made it amazing.

  • Lovely Time in Lech

We travelled with our three young children for a ski holiday and had a fantastic time. Hotel Theodul is convenient to rentals, lifts and ski school. The children’s tea, adjoining rooms, and kids club made it easy for adults and kids alike to relax and enjoy. The staff were extremely accommodating, open with tips on where to ski, and friendly to all of our little ones. The rooms are a bit warm for sleeping, but cracking the balcony door was an easy solution.

  • Fabulous!!!!

What a fabulous week we have just had with VIP. We booked room 7 as it was a triple room perfect for us and our 4 year old. It's a very spacious room with a smaller single room just across the landing. As soon as we arrived the hosts. Ben, Lindsay and Bella were very welcoming and brought up toys etc for the children to play with so they immediately settled in! The chalet itself is beautiful, cosy, and perfectly located near the lifts and ski school meeting points. Our chef, Lindsay, was wonderful offering full continental breakfasts and/or cooked of whatever/however you like your cooked breakfast to be! Beautiful cakes for afternoon tea and then the 3 course dinner in the evenings were superb. A massive thankyou also to Ben, Guy, and Bella for making all the children welcome too ( especially Ben, who our little boy thought was great!) On the whole fabulous service in a lovely relaxed atmosphere, thankyou!!!

  • Fabulous week, fabulous hosts

Fourth holiday with VIP in Bellevarde Lodges. Max and Elliot were superb hosts, professional yet fun company. Unobtrusive yet engaging when we wanted them to be. Both very calm and organised. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt thoroughly spoilt. Chalet kept clean, particularly kitchen prep areas which is reassuring to see when you are being catered for and is sometimes lacking in the chalet experience. Food excellent and tasty. Amazing snow conditions and a week of sunshine were the icing on the cake. Bit of a blip during the week, which was nothing to do with our wonderful hosts, and was quickly addressed and attended to by Freddie and the VIP resort staff.

  • Couples Holiday

Firstly, very pleased to hear a familiar voice(Andy) when I phoned to make initial enquiry. He was one of our chalet hosts on a previous holiday at Alpe d'Huez a few years ago, and still very helpful. Everything was very good including the flights and the coach transfers. It was well organised as usual and even though there was a slight hiccup when another coach driver smashed the wing mirror on ours, it was all dealt with very smoothly.Overall we had a very pleasant week's skiing in a lovely cosy chalet and enjoyed delicious food. It was a bonus that there was always a savoury option too at teatime. We were especially lucky to wake up to fresh snow on our last skiing day too and always enjoy the Saturday being a bit quieter on the slopes due to it being the changeover day for the majority of chalets and hotels. Enjoyed the art on the walls too.
