Clearly we think we're great, why come to work otherwise. But what do our customers say? We know that web sites are littered with anonymous out of date testimonials that it’s difficult to trust, but we're displaying comments written by our current and recent guests live, here on our web site. We're laying it bare, warts and all, and with the name of the writer attached. It’s not easy to look at yourself objectively, so don’t listen to us, listen to our guests.

We had an excellent week with our two families. The sun shone, the snow was fantastic and the lovely Alice looked after us brilliantly. Alice is a great chalet host and made us feel really welcome whilst making filling breakfasts, great cakes and brilliant evening meals. The nannies Billie and Kayleigh were great, and the children loved them, meaning we all had a proper holiday.
Previously we have been to Val with VIP and other operators. This particular chalet is centrally located, which is great for access to the shops and nearby bus stop, from which you can go direct to the slope in a couple of minutes. The bonus with a large chalet like Aspen Lodge is that there is a full concierge and lounge service for all the different suites, with free drinks and pool table. Couldn't quite believe it. We had the mezzanine room in Juniper suite. It is well insulated from sound in the living room, and it has nice views. However, being at the top of the building, it gets very hot, requiring the windows to be left open. The downside to this is that you may hear the exodus from nearby Dick's Tea Bar through the early hours, as this room faces the mountainside. The other rooms face the opposite direction and are much quieter. Aside from a lack of sleep, we experienced the usual high standard of service from VIP, with only a few issues.
We are aware that some of our guests have found Aspen rather hot in the past and clearly it is not environmentally friendly to cool the building by opening the balcony doors. We are pleased (at last) to announce that we have successfully found a cunning way of reducing the ambient temperature in the building and restoring individual room controls by disabling a heat regeneration unit and incapacitating some sensors. Tests after the season (Spring 2014) have been successful and everyone will now be able to control the temperature in their lounge and bedrooms by an individual thermostat rather than opening the doors and melting the nursery slopes! Apologies to our Aspen faithful that it has taken us so long to work this out and many thanks for your enduring patience.
What a great week, with excellent service from the VIP team. The chalet is in a great location only 2 minutes from the Medran lift, very comfortable and with stunning views. Laura has been fantastic, always ready with a smile and happy to laugh at our poor jokes!! The breakfast, afternoon cakes and evening meals have all been excellent - we are returning home happy and far too well fed, thank you Laura.
The last day of your holiday always comes around too quick however as my weekend treat i went for the cooked breakfast opposed to the beautifully made porridge. Not only was there bacon, tomato and sausage I had the most perfect poached eggs. After a sad return from the the last run on the slopes there was a surprise on the afternoon cakes.....death by chocolate cookies, and they really were, one was perfect and too if you dare. A last night in the chalet while overlooking the flood lite face, drinking champers and tucking into canapés, 3 variations on the canapés for those who had individual food preferences, imy never asked about these but just automatically prepared the options. The table for dinner was prepared with candles lite, most colourful and well presented starter that any a la carte restaurant would be proud to present. A main dish of duck cooked to each persons preferred colour, accompanied by fresh broccoli, potatoes, roasted onions and sautéed leeks, a divine dish for a final feast. If the above was not enough to follow was a citrus lemon cheese cake with each guest having a personalised caramelised letter of their name presented on their individual dessert. A perfect finish with the cheese board and crackers however we do have some cracker monsters in the chalet who managed to eat through the supplies before the end of the week so imy noticing this never said a word but made sure , even if it was out of her own pocket, that we had enough crackers for our final after dinner cheeses. Imy has a personality and genuine kind nature that will make any guest feel that no request is ever too much bother. She has a natural enthusiasm for hospitality and a visible passion in baking where I would have loved to stay longer to see her individually flair. She really will do anything and everything to make sure your stay with VIP is one where you truly feel like the VIP.
From the booking over the phone to the reception in resort, VIP promised a memorable week skiing. Writing this review now, I can confirm we have had that and more. From check-in to check-out, we've had the most amazing experience, obviously honed from a well delivered number of previous seasons. Our welcome was, warm, sincere and informative from our 'Chalet Host', Sam. From introducing the resort, the opportunities, and services and taking our orders/requirements for morning wake up drinks, Sam was the consummate professional. 6 days on, VIP, have been amazing, from the supporting staff, to general Management, that we found, out on resort, offering advice on random pistes, our experience has been maximised. We will be coming back for sure. Show us the booking list for 2015. Regs. Andre, Paddy & Andy.
