Ski holidays with children: Your top concerns taken care of

POSTED:

5 children enjoying childcare on ski holiday

At VIP SKI, we passionately believe that skiing is for everyone, and that includes the little ones. Whether you're carving up the slopes together or sharing hot chocolate in the mountains, a family ski holiday is the perfect setting to make memories that last a lifetime.

Of course, it’s natural to feel a little apprehensive when planning your first ski holiday with children. From childcare to logistics, there’s a lot to think about. But most of the common concerns we hear are easily resolved, and we’re here to make sure your experience is as smooth, safe and fun-filled as possible.

In fact, 80% of parents in our latest survey named a worry that we’ve already helped hundreds of families overcome. Below, we explore what’s on parents’ minds, and how VIP SKI can help put those concerns to rest.

Parents’ top worries about booking with children

The most common concern raised was whether ski areas would be suitable for children, something that stood out for around one in three (34%) parents.[1] And we completely understand. You want a holiday where your children can have just as much fun as you do, in a setting that feels safe, exciting, and built with families in mind.

Other key concerns included safety on the slopes and additional costs associated with children’s needs, both mentioned by just under a third of parents. The availability of suitable ski school classes and bad-weather backup plans also featured high on the list.

Smaller, practical worries also cropped up: everything from the stress of packing bulky gear to finding English-speaking instructors, or making sure your chalet is properly set up for family life. Here’s a snapshot of the top concerns:

Making memories on the slopes – family skiing made easy with VIP SKI
Hot chocolate breaks and snowy adventures - the little things that make a family ski holiday special
86% of parents with toddlers expressed at least one concern before booking - we’re here to take care of them
Our flexible childcare options give parents peace of mind, and time to enjoy the pistes

How VIP SKI can help

We’ve been helping families create unforgettable ski holidays for more than 30 years, and we know exactly how to take the stress out of the process. From your first enquiry to your flight home, our team is here to ensure your holiday works for the whole family, in every sense. Here’s how we make things easier:

Child-friendly ski areas
Our handpicked resorts are chosen for their family-friendly credentials. In La Plagne, you’ll find 140 beginner pistes, ideal for little legs and new skiers. Meanwhile, Avoriaz is home to the Burton Kids Lil' Stash snow park - a low-level adventure zone designed especially for young snow lovers.

Plenty to do off the slopes
We know that not every child wants to ski all day, and that’s absolutely fine. Our resorts are packed with other ways to stay entertained, from toboggan runs and indoor play zones in La Plagne to the splash-tastic waterpark in Avoriaz.

Flexible, trusted childcare
If you’re looking for some time away from the kids to explore the pistes alone or enjoy a quiet evening meal, our childcare services will be on hand. Our range of flexible options, including private nannies, babysitting and kids clubs for all ages, are there for you when you need them, and will ensure your kids have just as much fun as you do.

Ski schools you can count on
Our expert staff can help to arrange ski school places for your child’s age and skill level ahead of your break (subject to availability). This lets you travel safe in the knowledge that they can learn the slopes at their own pace.

Our partners at Oxygene ski school provide dedicated VIP SKI child lessons, as well as group ski and snowboard classes for adults and children of all abilities. The instructors have been hand-picked for their fluency in English and experience with children.

Hassle-free equipment hire
We make organising ski kit logistics easy. Simply add equipment hire to your booking and everything will be ready and waiting when you arrive, including the children's kit. Need a buggy, potty or booster seat? We’ve got those too, so you don’t have to squeeze them into your luggage.

Real people, real support
If you have questions or special requirements, just ask. Our friendly team has helped thousands of families navigate their first (or fifth!) ski trip with kids, and we’d love to help you too.

Let us take care of the details, so you can simply enjoy the mountains together

Our survey revealed common concerns, but we’re here to prove that family ski holidays don’t have to be complicated.
