Ski Conditions in Les Arcs through the season

POSTED:

With slopes reaching 3,226m and 70% of the Paradiski area sitting above 2,000m, Les Arcs is built for reliable snow. But conditions change through the season - from cold, dry powder in January to warm spring sunshine in April. This guide covers what to expect month by month, with a closer look at Christmas, New Year, February half-term and Easter - some of the most popular weeks with our guests.

Why Is Les Arcs So Snow Sure?

Les Arcs' snow reliability comes down to geography. The resort's four villages sit between 1,600m and 2,000m, but the skiing goes much higher - all the way to 3,226m at the Aiguille Rouge, one of the highest lift-served points in the Alps. That matters. At these altitudes, snow falls earlier, lasts longer and stays in better condition. The high-altitude bowl above Arc 2000 and Arc 1950 holds snow beautifully throughout the season, and with 70% of the Paradiski area above 2,000m, you're rarely skiing on anything marginal.

Many of Les Arcs' key slopes are also north-facing, which means less direct sunlight and snow that stays cold, dry and powdery for longer. This is especially noticeable in spring, when north-facing runs at altitude still deliver excellent conditions while south-facing resorts are struggling.
