La Plagne has released its news for the coming season …and for the following three seasons. The main news on the slopes is the ‘reprofiling’ of the Arnica blue run to make it more suitable for beginners. Work has also been carried out on the Rochu and Bellecote black pistes.

Several lifts have been improved and upgraded, the resort says with the objective of increasing comfort, capacity, speed and reducing the number of pylons where possible to enhance the environment.  These include a complete renovation of the Plagne Centre Telemetro lift.

There’s also a second toboggan run, to be accessible from the top of the l’Arpette chairlift which will be nearly two miles long (it’s 2.9km) and drop 500 vertical metres. Not for young children, you’ll need to be 1.4m high to ride down it.

This popular French resort has also announced planned lift improvements over the following three seasons including a new gondola at Plagne Montalbert for the 2014/15 season, replacement of the Bellecote chairlift ‘des Colosses’ for the 2015/16 season and replacement of the Glacier gondola for the  2017/18.
