Following the success of our early season ski courses in Val d'Isere, and the best snow conditions for years, H.A.T will be running another ski course for us in April 2012. 

Advanced guiding course with HAT - 15 April 2012

Make the most of Val d’Isere’s infamous terrain with our Advanced Guiding Courses in conjunction with Henrys Avalanche Talk programme this spring.

Join Andy Sturt, VIP SKI's Managing Director on the mountain for two and a half days of advanced ski guiding and mountain safety. HATs philosophy is 'Ride Hard, Ride Safe!' It's all about how to manage risks and still have fun at the same time.

Course & accommodation - £799 per person

• Full days guiding on Wed & Thurs, half day guiding Friday, mountain safety talk Wednesday evening
• 7 nights chalet accommodation in Bellevarde Lodge from Sunday 15 April 2012
• Flights from Gatwick
• Friends or partners reduced holiday price of £649 per person (excluding HAT course)

Lift pass not included. The maximum group size will be 6 people. Off piste equipment will be provided as required. transceiver, probe, shovel etc

Guiding
The days will be spent skiing off-piste in and around the Espace Killy looking for the best snow and sharing thoughts on how to approach the off-piste - keeping things safe and having fun at the same time. While the focus is on skiing, Henry will tailor 'a talk on-snow' in an informal manner - discussing the themes from the evening talk based on questions and comments from the group.

Mountain Safety Talk - 'Ride Hard, Ride Safe!'
"90% of avalanches that cause accidents are triggered by the victim.....So as skiers, since we are responsible for triggering the slide, it is possible to figure out how to avoid this risk. Ride Hard Ride Safe is an introductory talk on how to manage these risks and still have fun at the same time. The question skiers always ask us - ...is it safe out there? Our answer is ...it depends on you...;

Where you go and when. How you down or up. How prepared are you? 'Ride Hard Ride Safe' introduces skiers to each of these questions and how to answer them. This provides people with an overview of the issues and opportunities to have more fun.

HAT Membership
The HAT Premium Membership (usually £30) is also included as part of this course so that you can go back over the intro talk in it's four module video version on line and also check out the in-depth on line video-course content too!
