Flexible Hours

We realise that not everyone had the same routine, especially whilst on holiday, so our private nanny service is built on flexibility. You can choose which 8 consecutive hours you would like your nanny to work each day between 8am and 8pm. There is no need to confirm these times until you meet your nanny in resort, and you can even choose to change them day to day. Our nannies work 5½ days from Monday to Saturday with a half-day off mid-week (normally Wednesday). On the nanny half-day, you can choose for your nanny to work 8:30am to 1:30pm or 12 noon to 5:00pm.

Welcome Meeting

We know how daunting it can be meeting someone new, which is why on the first evening of your holiday, your nanny will come to your chalet to meet you and get to know the children. This is a good opportunity to chat through the week ahead and discuss your children’s routine. Your nanny will also come to ski school on the first morning, irrespective of whether this falls inside the working hours you have requested, to meet your child’s instructor and confirm class details. 

What The Children Can Expect

Our private nannies will care for your children in the comfort and familiar surroundings of your own chalet, and arrange with our drivers for any lifts needed for children’s weary legs after ski lessons.  In Les Gets, the nannies will be able to use the children’s playroom in the hotel.

Lunch time will involve something fresh and nutritious, but most importantly something your child likes – your nanny will discuss this with you when you arrive. For younger infants on bottles or purees, your nanny will happily prepare any special feeds needed too.

Any good workman has a big box of tools, and our private nannies are no exception. Your nanny will bring a box of goodies to the chalet; games, books, toys and art materials, and the youngsters can look forward to creative activities, baking, and messy play too. Weather permitting, and with your consent, they will go out for walks, trips on the bubble, build snowmen and have fun in the snow.  Your nanny will know all the best sledging areas, tastiest hot chocolate and hidden secrets of the resort, whether it’s a visit to the farm in Val d’Isere, the huskies in Alpe d’Huez or ice caves in La Plagne.

Only the best will do

We have gone to great lengths to ensure that you will feel absolutely confident in their ability to care for your children. We take on nannies with NNEB or equivalent qualifications, or experienced teachers who pass our own rigorous screening and CRB checks. All nannies then undertake our 2 week training programmes, including a paediatric first aid course.

As keen skiers with little ones ourselves, we fully understand that happy children make for relaxed parents and that quality childcare is an essential ingredient to every family holiday. The growing reputation of our childcare is reflected in the consistently glowing reports received in our questionnaires, and the number of nannies who return to work for us each season.

Ratios

One private nanny is permitted to look after:

• TWO Infants aged 6 months to 2 years, or
• THREE children aged 2 and over, or
• FOUR children aged 5 and over

If you have children of mixed age groups, please call our childcare line for advice on how many nannies you will require. Please note that in some instances you may be advised to book 2 nannies, even if the above ratios are being adhered to i.e when 3 children are 2 years old, we would recommend 2 nannies. Baby Specialist Nanny

We want all the family to experience the delights of snow, so we have a baby specialist on our teams in Val d’Isere, Morzine and Les Gets who can look after your little one as young as 12 weeks old. Our baby specialists can care for up to 2 children at a time and are available on a first-come basis.

Prices for 1 or 2 children

• Dec 12, Apr 24 (Val d’Isere only) - £500
• Peak dates (Dec 26, Feb 20, Mar 27, Apr 3 & 10) - £700
• All Other Dates - £600

A chalet holiday is perfectly suited to families, allowing children access to communal areas and facilities unknown in hotels. This, combined with our excellent childcare, makes skiing a truly family affair. We ensure you enjoy your time on the piste free from worries, safe in the knowledge that the children are having plenty of fun, and being cared for in a safe and happy environment.If you call us with the make up of your party, including ages and number of children, we will be happy to recommend the chalet best suited to you. Children of all ages are welcome in any of our chalets when a chalet is booked in its entirety.
During school holidays families are welcome in our CLUB properties, and families are welcome in the Altitude Lodge all season. Any family bookings outside of these dates will be considered and accepted at our discretion.

Child discounts

Children aged 2-4 on return date of travel receive a discount of £100 on brochure price. Those aged 5-12 on return date of travel and sleeping in a normal adult bed receive a discount of £50 on brochure price. If children are occupying a third or forth bed in a room they will normally be eligible for a discount of up to 50% off the adult price. 

Children’s Equipment

To ensure your little ones have everything they need, we can provide the following items free of charge upon request: sterilisers, changing mats, potties, bedguards, toilet steps, toilet seats, table booster seats and stairgates (not available for all chalets). All of these items are subject to availability and should be requested before you travel. Children’s cutlery and crockery are available in all chalets.

Children’s Meals

Our chalet hosts serve high tea for children at around 18h00. We require all children under 12 to take high tea unless you book the whole chalet. If you book the whole chalet and would rather your children eat with you later then please advise us at the time of booking along with any dietary requirements your child may have.

Our children's menus are very adaptable and the chalet host will discuss with you on arrival to tailor meals to your children's liking. The following shows an example of dishes that may be served:

Kids ski free

Children under 5 years old on the return date of travel receive a free ski pass on all departure dates. For those travelling to La Plagne the age limit for the childs free pass is 6 years old. For those travelling to Zermatt the age limit for the child's free pass is 8 years old.

All kids are priceless …. we know that! But how much exactly is it going to cost to bring them along with you on holiday?

We charge £125 for infants. This price includes a cot, bed linen and highchair. Breakfast and high tea as per our flexible children’s menu are available to older babies who can manage normal solid foods.  We do not provide jars or formula milk, but your chalet host will happily make a fresh puree to your baby’s liking, or powdered formula can be pre-booked. Flight seats are not included and unfortunately baby seats are not available on our coach transfers. However, baby seats are available on private taxi transfers and an adult taxi supplement applies. Infants must be under 2 years on the return date of travel.

Infant packs

We want your holiday to be as hassle free as possible, so shopping for nappies on arrival is best avoided! We have put together a choice of two infant packs which you can pre-order to be delivered to your chalet for your arrival. This also saves you the inconvenience of having to find space in your suitcase for bulky items like nappies. We strongly advise you pre-book your Infant Pack at the time of booking.

• Mini Pack - £15 - This pack includes your choice of Huggies Super Dry or Pampers Active Fit nappies, Pampers sensitive baby wipes and nappy sacs.
• Maxi Pack - £25 - This pack includes items as in the mini pack, plus powdered formula milk. You can choose from SMA Gold, Blue or Red and Milupa Aptimal Stages 1, 2 & 3
