Ski holiday insurance
Please remember that it is a condition of travelling with us, as it is with any other travel company, that you and everyone in your party has insurance cover equivalent to the bespoke guest policy that we offer.
We looked back over all that has gone wrong for our guests over the last two decades and asked FOGG Insurance to come up with a bespoke policy best adapted to your needs. We sell this insurance to you at cost price. If you do not take our insurance policy then you warrant that your own insurance and that of all your party provides cover equivalent to our own. If you are unsure of either your own personal insurance cover or anyone in your party then e-mail our office and add cover to your booking.
Ski holiday insurance …. its very specialist, quite hazardous and most insurance companies caveat and excess away the risk to themselves. We know everyone has annual insurance of some sort these days but are you really sure that you are properly covered for the following;
- Off piste skiing without a guide. Very easy to stray the wrong side of a piste marker without realizing it. RESCUE & MEDICAL BILL £10,000
- Accommodation, food and expenses if the road to resort is closed by an avalanche or your aircraft is grounded by an ash cloud. BILL £500
- Rental skis disappearing from outside a mountain restaurant. BILL £1000
- A collision on the hill injuring another skier. LEGAL FEES & DAMAGES £250,000
These scenarios can cost tens of thousands of pounds and spoil your holiday. It seems silly to take the risk, and to try and convince you, we now sell bespoke ski insurance cover from FOGG at cost price.
If you do not take our insurance policy then you warrant that your own insurance and that of each of your party provides equivalent cover, this is a condition of travelling with us.
If for any reason you find out that the insurance is not suitable for you after you have purchased it, there is a 14 day cooling off period. You may therefore return it for a full refund within that time period as long as you have not travelled or made a claim within that time.

ABI code of practice
Under the Association of British Insurers General Business Code of Practice we have to bring to your attention some of the important features of the Fogg travel insurance policy.
This contains full details of the cover provided plus the conditions and exclusions which apply to it. You must read the insurance policy carefully.
Conditions and Exclusions There are conditions and exclusions, which apply to individual sections and general conditions, exclusions and warranties, which apply to the whole policy.
Medical expenses Your policy does not provide private health treatment unless specifically approved by the emergency assistance service. You should carry an EHIC (formerly E111) or equivalent and use this at state facilities when travelling within the European Union.
If you, or any other person travelling with you, have ever had treatment for any heart or circulatory condition, a stroke or high blood pressure, any breathing condition (including asthma), any type of cancer, any type of diabetes, any existing injury or other serious or re-occurring medical condition, any condition requiring long term prescribed medication or if you are receiving or awaiting investigation for any medical condition you must advise the Referral Helpline as per the policy terms to see if additional cover is available. Insurers reserve the right to impose terms. You will receive confirmation in writing of their decision.
These are settled on an indemnity basis - not on a “new for old” or placement cost basis.
Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include inner limits e.g. for any one item, or for valuables in total.
Claims under most sections of the policy will be subject to an excess. Where there is an excess, you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim.
The making of a fraudulent claim is a criminal offence. Your insurer may be recording details of claims on an anti-fraud register.
You are required to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property and to act as though your are not insured.
Telling Us about Relevant Facts
You must tell Insurers or ourselves before you travel about anything which may affect your cover. This information must be complete and adequate. If you are not sure whether something is relevant you should tell us anyway. You should keep a record of any information you give us. If you do not tell Insurers about something that may be relevant your cover may be refused and Insurers may not cover any related claims.
The Insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
Hazardous Holiday Activities
The policy may not cover you when you take part in certain hazardous activities e.g. paragliding.
The contract will be subject to English Law unless otherwise agreed.
It is essential that you read the insurance certificate. As with most insurance, you are only insured for an event which occurs after you have purchased the cover. Please carefully read the paragraph headed “Health” under the Important Notice Section and shown below. If for any reason it is not suitable for you, you may return it for a full refund, provided you return it within 14 days of purchase and you have not travelled or have made a claim.

As VIP SKI is an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited, who with Insurers, Union Reiseversicherung AG (URV), are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), we are able to offer our clients winter sports travel insurance tailored especially for our holidays.
Those taking Fogg insurance will also benefit from the provision of the Fogg Medi-card which is recognised by all the local emergency services, doctors and hospitals. All you need pay is the policy excess amount. In the unfortunate event that you were to need to use Fogg's travel insurance, our resort staff are specifically trained in Fogg emergency procedures and will be able to help you, and to co-ordinate friends and family in case of an accident.
