Driving advice

French autoroute tolls amount to approximately €50 - €60 each way, varying a little depending on your destination and route. If you use the Swiss motorway you must buy a permit sticker (Vignette) costing approximately 50Sfr (valid for one year).

As independent travellers we would be grateful if you could let us know your itinerary so that we can pass the information onto resort staff.  Unless other arrangements have been agreed in writing, please remember that the accommodation will be ready from 15h00 and that guests are asked to leave on the day of departure by 10h00.

Summit View 

Take the exit for Aime and follow the signs for La Plagne. Follow the road up through the 21 hairpins until you reach the roundabout at the top. Take the first exit in the direction of Plagne Centre. As you enter Plagne Centre you will pass the Salle Omnisports building on your left and a large parking area adjacent to this. To the right of the parking area (as you look at it from the road) is a ramp that takes you up past the banks and Pharmacie. Drive on as far as you can go, the parking ends where the piste begins. This is temporary parking for unloading bags. As you walk up to the piste you will see some outside steps leading into the building on your right. Once through the electric doors take the stairs in front of you and follow the signs for Summit View.

The Bellevarde Lodges - Upon arrival in central Val d’Isere go straight on at the first roundabout (opposite Banque de Savoie) and turn right at the second. Head through the tunnel and continue straight on past the STVI building on your left and straight over when the road turns 90 degrees to the right. Continue up the hill about 200 metres and the Bellevarde Lodges are situated together on the left hand side after “Residence EurekaVal”. Parking is available in the garages under the chalets, to which your chalet host will provide access.

Aspen Lodge - Upon arrival in central Val d’Isère continue straight on for 60 metres after the first roundabout (opposite the Banque de Savoie). The Aspen Lodge is located in “Residence Le Lys Martagon”, on the right hand side of the road (in between the Tabac and the Auberge St Hubert restaurant). Underground parking for the Aspen Lodge is located at the rear of the building. There is valet parking, and a member of concierge (located in the Reception) can assist you further.

Chalet Klosters, Madrisah, Davos & Arosa - Follow the road from La Daille towards the centre of Val d’Isere. Turn left opposite the Spar petrol station, between the pharmacy and the Point Auto garage.  Continue up the track (which veers heavily to the left as you climb the hill) until you reach the Chalet Suisse cul de sac at the very end of the road. Chalet Arosa is further up the cul de sac on the right. Chalet Klosters is slightly to your left at the top of the cul de sac. Chalet Madrisah is the middle of the three buildings. Chalet Davos is on the lower level on the left.

The Farmhouse - Upon arrival in central Val d’Isère continue straight on at the first roundabout (opposite the Banque de Savoie). Continue straight on again at the second roundabout.  Continue another 50 metres then bear right, taking the narrow road (after Kana Beach shop) towards the church (passing the Hotel Bellevue on your right).   Pass the church and continue another 80 metres, The Farmhouse is on your left on the road. Your chalet host will advise you where to park the car once you have unloaded.

Petit and Grand Choucas - Upon arrival in central Val d’Isere continue straight on for approximately 10 metres after the first roundabout (opposite the banque de Savoie) The Grand and Petit Choucas can be found just off the high street on the left hand side. The entrance to the building is found between the Roxy café and the Billabong shop (the first small turn on the left after the roundabout). 

There is no parking at the Grand or Petit Choucas although we do have limited underground parking at our Aspen Lodge (virtually opposite). Please telephone the Aspen Lodge on arrival in Val d’Isere on (number tbc). If parking is unavailable in the Aspen Lodge our staff will direct you to the nearest resort car parking.

Chalet Mariefleur, Marielaine, Brioche & Altair - As you approach Méribel, you will pass a "Sport Boutique" warehouse and the "Bressand" bakery followed by a sign for Mussillon on your left. After this sign, turn left directly up a small gravel driveway to a cul de sac of 3 buildings. Chalet Mariefleur is the chalet directly in front of you. Chalet Marielaine and Chalet Brioche are the chalet on the right. Chalet Altair is chalet on the left.

Taiga Lodge and Indiana Lodge - Follow the main road through Méribel passing the Spar Supermarket and turning on the left towards the Altiport. The road heads down hill towards the Olympic Centre (very large white building). At the bottom of the hill, (before you reach the Olympic Centre), you will see a large car park on the right and a set of round recycling bins by the side of the road. Turn right just before the bins under the télécabine wires up a winding hill. The Taiga Lodge and Indianna Lodge are the last two chalets up the hill at the top of a short driveway, Taiga on the right and Indiana on the left.

CLUB Pierre - Take the wide turning on your left after Spar (supermarket), direction Altiport and Belvedere. At the top of this road turn left in the direction “Golf”. Continue up the hill through “Morel”. Approx 100m after the second hairpin (the first hairpin being where the restaurant/bar ‘Chez Kiki’ is located) take the small road on the left hand side called “Chemin Robert Rondi”. Follow the road down the hill turning right towards the parking area where the road forks. Drive under the chairlift and Chalet Pierre is situated straight in front of you at the bottom of the road just above the bottom of the Morel Chairlift.

Refuge Boua - Follow the main road through Méribel as if going around the town to the right. Just after the Olympic Centre (very large white building) you get to a roundabout, follow signs for Mottaret passing through the tunnel. Chalet La Boua is the first chalet on your right as you exit the tunnel, use the steps down to the piste to access the front door.

Basic Itinerary:

• Take the A26 from Calais to Reims & Troyes.
• The A26 becomes the A5 to Langres.
• The A5 becomes the A31 to Dijon.
• Take the A39 to Bourg-en-Bresse.
• At Bourg-en-Bresse take the A40 towards and then past, Geneva.
• This becomes the A40 - 'Autoroute Blanche'.
• Follow signs for Cluses/ Taninges/ Les Gets.
• After driving through Les Gets, this road will lead you all the way to Morzine.

Once in Les Gets itself follow the signs to Les Chavannes, Altitude Lodge is at the end of the road. It takes about 7-10 minutes from the town, up a very windy road. You will recognise Altitude Lodge as the newest looking building on the far left once you reach the end of the road.

Nebraska, Dakota & Montana Lodges - You enter Morzine on the D338. Continue straight on at the first give way sign towards the centre of town. Pass the tourist office on your left and bear round to the right. Take the immediate right hand turn. Dakota, Nebraska & Montana Lodge are located 20metres up the road on the right after the Cabine 12 shop.

Du Bois - As you enter Morzine on the D338, take the first right after the Renault garage. Climb the hill for about 100m. Chalet Du Bois is the building in front of you, slightly on the left.

Chalets Alaska and Valdez - As you enter Morzine on the D338 from Les Gets. Turn left at the first give way sign with Hotel Igloo on your left hand side. Drive to end of road and turn right at the T-junction. Alaska and Valdez are 200m down on the left hand side, above the Spar supermarket and opposite the Bonbonniere bakery. The front door is accessed directly from the pavement and located inbetween the Spar supermarket and Hubert Sports. After dropping your bags take the immediate right hand turn and you will see the entrance to the underground public parking after 50m on your left hand side.

Chalet Du Pre - As you enter Morzine on the D338 from Les Gets. Go straight on at the first give way sign with Hotel Igloo on your left hand side. Bear right after 100m, signposted AVORIAZ and continue for approximately 500m, passing the ESF on your left hand side. The small drive to the chalet can be found at the end of a tall hedge on the left hand side opposite the ‘Matafan’ restaurant which is on the right hand (and opposite) side of the road. If you pass ‘Nicolas Sports’ on the left hand side then you have gone too far

Directions from Zermatt Train Station:

Haus Gmatchi - telephone number 02 75 44 22 61

• From the train station turn right up the high street, Bahnhofstrasse.
• Just after the UBS Bank on the right, approximately 350m from the station, you will come to the Alpin Centre on the right hand side. On your left is the Mont Cervin Hotel. 
• Turn left after the watch shop (if you get to Grampi’s you have gone to far). Walk down the narrow cobbled street. This street is very slippery so please watch your step.
• After 100m Gmatchi is on the right hand side. The easiest way of identifying the chalet is by the copper drainpipes, but there is a number 66 by the front door.

• With the train station behind you walk to the main street, Bahnhofstrasse, and turn right.
• Walk up the high street for about 250m until you see the green crosses of the pharmacies and Glacier Sports on the left hand side. 
• The entrance to Haus Glacier is just to the right of Glacier Sports.
• There are two doors in the recess. The one on the right is for the Testa Grigia Hotel, the door on the left leads down a corridor to a lift that takes you to the apartment.

• From the train station walk across the square towards the Gornergrat train station.
• Walk down the road that runs parallel to the tracks for approximately 300m until you see a playground on the right hand side.
• Take the road on the right and Haus Bor is the second building on the left. 
• The apartment is on the first floor - up the stairs, first on the left.

Basic Itinerary

• From Calais take the A26 to Reims 
• From Reims take the A4 to Metz. 
• Turn off onto the A26 signposted Troyes  
• Take the A5 the A31 to Dijon
• From Dijon to Lyon the A31 becomes the A6. 
• Just before Lyon take the A46 for Grenoble 

Le Village Chalets
Once on the ring road around Grenoble (Rocade Sud), leave at junction 8, signposted Briancon and Station de l’Oisans. From Bourg D'Oisans take the road signposted Alpe d'Huez after Casion Supermarket.  As you approach Alpe d’Huez, follow signs for Quartier Bergers. The road will fork and will see chalets up on your right hand side, do not drive up there but take the left hand fork up to a roundabout. Carry straight on over the roundabout onto Avenue du Rif Nel (you will now be following the piste on your right hand side).  Carry on this road until you are nearly at the top of the resort where you will turn right onto Rue de Font Belle. The chalets will be found on the right hand side just before the entrance to the car park for the Chamois d’Or and Beau Soleil hotels. Underground parking can be found beneath the chalets.
