Local Activities
Zermatt offers a variety of activites for both the non-skier and those wanting some amusement after the lifts have closed. Our resort staff will have further information and will be able to assist you in booking.
Paragliding
Take a trip by air over the slopes and resort below, offering you breathtaking views and an exhilerating experience. The flight in a duel harness with a qualified instructor can be taken from Rothorn down to either Zermatt or Sunegga.
Helicopter Flights
There can be no better way to see the Matterhorn and its surrounding scenery than by taking helicopter flight.
Heli-skiing
The ultimate in ski experience - taking a helicopter ride away from the mainstream pistes and with a guide, descending some challenging terrain.
Ice Skating
In the centre of the town there are 2 ice skating rinks, one natural, one man made. The rinks are free to use, but you will need to hire skates from one of the nearby shops.
Tobogganing / Sledging
The dedicated slopes at Furi offer an evening toboggan session on selected nights as well as the daily toboggan run which is open at Rotenboden. The Sunegga resturant offers an evening fondue and toboggan session one night a week.
Winter Walking
Amid the peaks of the Matterhorn region you can walk along miles of well maintained paths to marvel at the scenery both above and below you. You can take the Gornergrat train or the Rotenboden lift.
Snowshoe trails
You can register at the Snow and Alpine centre on the high street and join one of the snow shoe guided walks. Snow shoes can be hired from several sports shops on the high street.
Igloos
Spend a night in a luxury igloo for the ultimate in mountain expenience.
Cinema
Zermatt's cinema offers a luxury film experience - you can enjoy a meal while watching a film, or have a relaxing cocktail in the sophisticated cocktail bar afterwards. Most films are in English with German subtitles.

Zermatt's 4* and 5* hotels offer a variety of spa facilities between them along with luxury swimming pools and a huge range of health and beauty treatments.
