1.  Born in London, growing up in Twickenham, Chemmy’s first experience of the snow was in Flaine aged just 18 months. And she first raced at the age of 3.

2.  Chemmy and husband, Dougie Crawford, are the parents of two sons, Locki and Cooper.

3.  Aged just 16, Chemmy was ranked number 1 in the world for her age group, and silver and bronze medallist at the European Youth Olympics. Aged 19 Chemmy came 14th in Salt Lake Olympics.

4.  Aged just 11 Chemmy broke her neck in a skiing accident, recovering with two vertebrae fused together. She has broken 49 bones in her life – ouch!

5.  Chemmy admits she would never have been able to afford to compete in the Sochi Winter Olympics if she had not taken part in Dancing on Ice. In which she came 5th in 2012.

6. Chemmy created the initiative X-Elle, to develop young girls confidence in and through sport with United Learning and toured the UK visiting schools.

7. Alongside her husband Dougie she now runs CDC performance coaching, offering high-level coaching camps around the world for athletes of all levels. Their youngest client is 8 and oldest 78!

8. Charity work is very important to Chemmy, where she acts as an active ambassador for Right to Play, Ski4Cancer, SnowCamp and United Learning. Back in June 2008, Chemmy climbed Mount Kilimanjaro along with fellow ski racers Julia Mancuso and Laurenne Ross. The climb raised a whopping $30,000 for Right to Play.

10.  In 2019 Chemmy links up with VIP SKI and the Telegraph to host a fantastic week on the snow in Val d’ Isere on the 19th April.

A - "My favourite resort is Coronet peak in New Zealand on a powder day. If that’s a little too far to travel for your weeks skiing, the Arlberg ski region is a close runner up."

A - "There are honestly too many to choose from but it’s safe to say the 5pm run down from la Folie Douce in Val d’Isere to la Daille is a firm favourite."

A - "My favourite ski region would have to be the Portes du Soleil area and especially Morzine and Avoriaz. With lots of likeminded boarders out on the mountain, plenty of tree lined runs and the Stash snowpack in a Avoriaz it’s a great place to board."

A - "I would say snowboarding. As a skier come snowboarder I am definitely a convert. The learning process was slower to begin with but I found once it clicked I progressed very quickly and never looked back."

A - "The boots for a start! And when the snow gets a little slushy and tiring on skis snowboarding gets better! It’s less tiring on your legs and more fun. And let’s be honest, it’s far easier to dance on the tables in snowboard boots."

A - "I really enjoy apres at Ronnies in Meribel, I think that has to be my favourite venue."

We’re serious about ski holidays, but we’re not always serious. We thoroughly enjoyed shooting the video in Val d’Isere at the end of last season, and of course there was a little bit of silliness during the shoot. We hadn’t known we would be presented with an outtakes video, but thought it was too good not to share.

1. Undoubtedly your primary concern when choosing a skiing holiday is the snow. With temperatures at their coldest and slopes at their quietest, it’s safe to say good snow conditions are almost guaranteed. Thanks to those temperatures, snow maintenance and artificial snow are readily available should they be required.

1. March has an excellent track record for snow fall and you’re pretty much guaranteed to spend most lunch times soaking up the sun! March can offer the best of both worlds with fresh snow and blue bird days.

2. Similarly to January holidays, March is often far quieter than December and February periods. Remember, the sooner you can get up those lifts, the soon you can wizz down the freshly groomed pistes.

3. Contrary to popular belief, dancing on tables at après is almost as exhausting as a day’s skiing. I think we can all agree that the longer the day lasts, the more time you can spend at après.
