We’re building again! Three new chalets in Avoriaz

Fri March 01, 2019

It’s an exciting time at VIP SKI HQ…

Having opened 4 new chalets in Avoriaz this winter we’re now setting our sights even higher and will be overseeing the construction of a further 3 brand new chalets, set to open in time for Christmas 2019. Chalet Kipnuk, Chalet Sakami and Chalet Ipaka are the latest additions to our growing portfolio of chalets throughout 10 of the greatest ski resorts in France and Austria.

We sat down with MD Andy Sturt to chat through his thoughts on this exciting new venture:

Goodbye sunshine, hello snow

Fri September 07, 2018

The 2018 summer season has now sadly come to an end. Although we can’t contain our excitement for the winter ahead, now is the perfect time to reflect on a jam-packed summer.

We’ve been catching up with some of our summer staff members and just had to share a few of their amazing photos. Whether mountain biking, hiking, parapenting, riding or even skiing (believe it when you see it) they’ve shown that the Alps are just as beautiful without snow.

Back to Ski School

Fri August 31, 2018

We say ski school, you think groups of French children swarming around the lifts, falling over and generally causing havoc. Think again because ski schools have branched out massively and now offer a huge variety of classes to suit all levels of skiers. Even advanced skiers can benefit hugely from a pair of eyes on the ground to point out bad habits which you might have picked up over the years.

Here’s our run down of the most exciting classes to discover this season from our ski school partners in France and Austria.

Avoriaz Alpine Ski School – Ladies’ Backcountry Clinic

No boys allowed in this exclusive group, led by British Freeride coach Amy Marwick with the aim to introduce backcountry skiing (off-piste to you and I) in a friendly and welcoming environment. Amy will cover the basic backcountry skillset including choosing an appropriate line, lining up natural features and, of course, using avalanche safety kit effectively and efficiently.

The course is scheduled to run from 28 – 30 January. Look at Chalet Ossetra and Penthouse 1 for luxury accommodation.

Fly from Birmingham to Geneva next winter

Wed May 23, 2018

We pride ourselves on listening to our guests and evolving every day. So, after many requests last winter, we’re thrilled to announce we will be offering a charter flight from Birmingham to Geneva for the coming season.

Provided by Jet2, the flight will serve the resorts of Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, La Plagne and Val d’Isere for just a small supplement of £35pp.

We do only have an allocation of 20 seats each week, so if you’re looking for the convenience of flying from your local airport we advise booking early to secure a seat.

The return of January skiing (in April!)

Fri April 06, 2018

If you’re thinking that skiing in April is a lost cause, you couldn’t be further from the truth! I know we’re all fed up with the cold spell we’ve been experiencing here in the UK, but it’s done wonders for our ski resorts. Weather reports are comparable with those of January and even the lower resorts are still providing fantastic conditions.

Check out some of these snaps from the alps this week.
