Andy Sturt's thoughts on the Aspen refurb...
Earlier this week I was up in Val d'Isere for the day to check on progress on our much heralded refurb of Aspen Lodge.
Having made so much noise about it and having read about it increasingly often in the UK press I can't pretend that I wasn't a little nervous that we had been able to deliver on our big mouth. Shouldn't have worried, how could I ever have doubted our long standing and hard suffering interior designer, Andrew Laughland. A few bits and bobs still outstanding before our opening party on 24 November, but my goodness, what a transformation.
Clean, chic, contemporary, smart ... pick your adjective. In street talk, it 'looks the business'. I found time for a quick game of pool in reception and completely humbled by Alex's demo of the new cinema screen and AV system - what a noise! Evening Footie games (a new feature for this season with free 'viewing juice' -beer- on tap) and 6 nations rugby (full SKY HD Sports) will never have looked and sounded so good.
I think the new pics pretty much tell the story. Thanks to Andrew and all at Design Forum for another outstanding piece of interior design. That should do us for another 10 years.
